I do not know of a way you can check for what firmware version the K850i has, as the code maybe different to my old SE!
However, if you goto the Sony Ericsson website, there is an update service available for all SE handsets. once your phone's hooked up to your PC it can tell you whether your K850i has the latest firmware. If it doesn't, it can be uploaded straight to the phone there and then!
***WARNING***
A firmware update will clear everything from your phone, so save all revelant information first and remove the memory card!

Nokia n82 keypad is not a copy of se.nokia n91 has the same keypad

Can anyone or any SE users (Ed maybe, since u know lots of stuffs bout SE, esp this phone) tell me how to check on your cell phone firmware version, must we take the phone to a SE center or we can just enter some code number to show it on the screen?
and one more question, where can i download the latest firmware for K850, and will replacing the firmware formats/resets the phone to factory settings, will all of my data n settings kept or will be deleted
please do help me, email me if u must..

N82. it's not beautiful...Keypad is a copy of Sony ericson, Xenon flash introduced after Sony Ericsson and OVERALL.see the position of MEMORY CARD ...Full copy of Sony Ericsson.

Seriously stop comparing the N95 to the K850, they are different kinds of phones, N95 = do everything, master little and K850 = media power house, who needs pointless stuff? Basically the K850 is for those not wanting all the stuff Nokia puts in thier phones. The K850 is not focused on getting buisnessmen like the N95 is geared towards, the K850 is just a top of the line general audiance phone. And by the way, the camera might not be as good, but it also reacts and starts up twice as fast. In my opinion if you need to use text documents and maps grab a N95 but if you just want something cool, quick, stylish, and entertaining pick up the K850.

Hi friends, I have already used SE k750i and i was waiting for k850i, but looking at the problems like hang up and Battery standby, am confused a bit in buying K810 or K850.. Could anyone pls suggest which is better. (pixels both 3.2 or 5 is ok for me) so looking at performance which is better..

hey guys im wondering if there would be a difference in the quality of the phone if i got it from Hong Kong as apposed to one from the U.S. If someone can answer this it would be a great help.

wow, i didn't think the phone would get so much interest. iv had it for around a month now and im super fast on the txting after a slow start, i see why they've put the new keypad in and the small buttons now. All i can say is that this thing between nokias and sony ercs, its not a race its a marathon and due to poor battery life the nokia will be left stood at the starting line.

The viewty is a sharp looking phone. From what I've read the music isn't so good on the viewty. The camera pics are fine, though not as good as either nokia or se. The video on it is amazing though. 120 fps is just stupid.(

my friend has this phone and i this is the complain i got from him....
a. dirt got inside under between the lens cover and he has no way to clean it out
b. when sync with the latest contacts, the phone only recognize the contacts from the computer and not from the latest added contact from the phone
c. the camera design itself is a drawback from the k800i model as the flash is not above the camera but moved to the left. as a result, you will need to learn how to hold it correctly to take a picture so you will not block the flash

ive had four k850i's and the fourth one just gone away for repair. its a great phone but the software should really have been tested better before it was put on sale as it was a range of faults through out the four phones i had. also the pictures come out black as i know this is already a known fault.
