the Sony Ericsson is a Quad-band phone. It works on 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz.
In Europe and in the USA is K850i a quad-band phone.

i dont believe anyone who said it is plasticky cheap its made from best materials and it is excellent from everything and until now no disadvantages for me really talk about it dont make people hate it go on se!!!!!

Apparently Carphone Warehouse had 700 in main warehouse earlier this week... the next day they had 400. Selling like crack.

got the phone today.
My impressions:
Not as good looking as it is on pics.
Thicker than what i first thought.
Phone feels a little cheap plasticky.
Good camera
The file manager is brilliant
Auto-rotate is magnificent.
Slow reactions intermittantly.
Opening hatch for battery, sim and memory card doesnt feel reliable. It would break at some point even just normal usage.
Keypads are easy to press and use.
And lastly, wiping the glossy surface to make it reflect could be my part time job now..lmao
Some good points and bad points there.

K850 is in trouble right from the start, it has been delay for far two long! spy pics has been out as far back as March! It should have been released three months after N95! not more than half a year! The current asking price is too much for its worth. Once it got to the point near what K800 was asking early this year, it will be worth it! It has to drop price SOON, cause Samsung has 5mpx with optic zoom out soon and there is the old N95 price drop once 8G version out. Finally is the N82's full frontal attack on K850 before march 08!
Little wonder why spy pic of the K860i was out a few days before K850 actually released!
If K860i has 3X optical camera plus wifi, it doesn't matter if it has GPS build in (as long as it support the SONY GPS external thing) it will beat N82 even before it come out!
If K850i goes 350 USD, i will get one before I get the K860i in April 08!
SE must do things right to win customers!

coz it's not yet available in baguio

hope it will be affordable a week after it's release.
for sure in three months time

Cannot believe, the new K850 cyber-shot doesn't take great pictures as people expected!
SE really have to build a new cell phone to be able to be back on track as soon as possible.

anyway the price in singapore is actually only $858 SGD (about 520 USD) at the sony ericcson shop itself (sim-free/retail price without any subscribers plan)and u get a bluetooth headset free too..

had the phone for 24hrs and i'm going to compare with my n73.
Firstly the music playback on the k850i is far superior no question there, and this is the main reason i got it, the sound is loud clear and amazing the new media centre is a great idea.
Unfortunately camera appears to be lacking though i'm not at all impressed i really expected much much more from it and my n73 beats it hands down, i've been snapping away all morning and looking at the pics, i find the k850 pics dark and you have to put it in best pic mode to sort this out whereas my n73 takes a perfect pic without fiddling around with settings. the screen for viewing the pics is not great either it's again not a patch on the n73.
The keypad is not great either the main reason i didn't get the w880 was the keypad because i had to try and text with my nails and i'm finding myself doing the same here and before everyone starts saying "he must have stupid great big fingers" i can assure you that i don't.
menu system is typical sony ericsson easy to use and navigate so no problems there.
i've got this on a contract but will i keep it hhmm i'm really going to have to work on it, i think my euphoria of yesterday is waining a little as it's not really a great leap forward compared to my n73

Thanks for answering my question about the N73 vs. K850i in terms of music.
Anyways, what I meant was which one is louder in terms of volume ?
I know that the k850i will have better sound quality than the N73, because Sony Ericsson are always better in terms of sound quality.

just for the guy down that said that the K850 has (the camera is like the eye of the owl) well i just wanted him to check the 1st principle of photography that the big as the"Camera Shutter Iris" is the more light enters it. so WTF r u complaining that you are getting a better picture?? or r u just trying to convince people not to buy it. Man if u think that ur phone(what ever that it, probably Nokia)is better than keep it and dnt buy this one just stop posting reviews that are just not accurate and espeially if u have no idea in Camera.
