I think SE K850 will be an extension of K800 success story. If Nokia fans excused me, I was using Nokia before K800, and I used Nokia after K800 and W850, but no way I can feel comfortable and powerful like SE. It is enough when you press a button and get the thing on the spot not like Nokia that it takes long time to show you the screen.

Having worked in a phone shop for 3 years and also having to deal with all the repairs, I will never have a Nokia again - after being Nokia loyal for many years. The 6280 and n80's were a joke with so many having to get sent away for repair. Can hardly remember any SE's going off for their software upgrades.

why cant ppl realize that nokia is a phone manufacturer only!! Sony is an electronic company and diversifies its business in every market.. they dont just concetrate in phones.. Sony will never be Nokia and so says the market.. thats why Nokia has been top for how long!! Study the industry before you write comments.. Sony phones are good and i use one too but they will never be N-series or Communicators.. Not even close guys... dream on fellas...

I`m interested in the 858c because of Quad-band, but what does "for mainland china" mean, will it work good in Europe and North America?

I currently have a K800i , signal suffers a lot in North America, because of the lack of the 850 band.

I need a phone that works well in Europe and NA

                  @spiceboy

Uhm...mobile TV is already out? Japan's had it for over a year, and Germany introduced it last year for the soccer games.

It's not very big though in Europe. There's only one Samsung Handset and the N92 from memory.

SHARP developed a dual-mode mobile-TV chip to suit both Europe and Japan. This way models like the SHARP 905SH and Toshiba 912T can be delivered in Europe.

                  Is that what you mean?!

The reality is, we benifited from the rivalry between Nokia & SE. For the fact that if the other one introduced upgraded features such as camera 3.2 to 5 mp the other one follow.

I've heard that soon! probably by 3rd or 4th Qtr of 2008, SE will introduce mobile TV!!! so enjoy watch TV wirelessly. SE fanatics, watch of it.

Nokia is the market leader with the odd 37% market share, which DOES NOT mean they make the best quality mobiles. Their array of mobiles penetrates the market deeper than that of SE's at the moment.

Having seen the most recent reviews of the K850i vs. N95 I can say that both have massive flaws.

Nokia is too vibrant in their color reproduction, SE is to pale. Both of them are very noisy and SE has always had a problem with auto-focus. SE's pictures are too SOFT, and Nokia's are way too SHARP which produces artifacts that shoudn't be there.

I have used the N73, K800/K810i and my beloved SHARP 903SH. In terms of quality the 903SH wins by miles.
Check out my pics on my website:

                        www.christianlegere.com/gallery.php?gid=beautiful_australia&gnum=10

More recent pics in the other gallery are all K810i.

And from what I can tell, the best 5 megapixel camera-phone is the I-Mobile 902 because it's got a Sony CCD module.

hmm, i wonder why people always arguee about Nokia vs SE, and they keep forgeting the other rival manufacturers (ie: Samsung G600).

btw, i see some wrong facts post by users here, and i would like to correct some...
AFAIK, the 1st music-phone is Siemens SL45i, the 1st camera-phone is Sharp J-SH04, the 1st swivel phone is Moto V70, the 1st clamshell phone is Moto Startac, the 1st slider phone is Siemens SL10. etc...
well, that's all i know, please CMIIW.
                          thankyou.

There's no need for 20x digital zoom, I don't even use 2x digital. If they can integrate a small optical zoom in, without making the phone too big, they will have a real winner. It's just a matter of time, who releases a good pocketable optical zoom camera phone.

when sony ericsson k & W series are compared to nokia n series, the zooming feature is very less.if u make a k series with 20x digital zoom,it will be more apreciated.i love sony ericsson k850i.
