Could anyone tell me how much zoom does this phone have i'm really interested in buying this phone and need to know how much zoom does the 5 megapixel camera have. thanks...

Why don't you people get it,how do you expect this phone to have WLan when it even does not run on symbian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No matter what people says one thing is for certain,that the camera of the K850i is definitely better than that of the N95.

Hey Guys! could you just all relax and wait for the fone to be officially released & available?! I mean, it's funny some of you comparing this fone to other Models or to be specific to the Nokia N95.
Look at the comparison you made..
K850 - N95
w/Xenon - w/o Xenon
w/o GPS - w/GPS
256K colors - 16 Million
etc..
Come on guys!! You're comparing features that is in favor of what you think is the best or more likely what you liked!
Now I believe both SE K850 and Nokia N95 has a completely different market. And the proof is the features and specification of the phones. thats why they are different Coz' their manufacturer want it to be the best in that market or category (CameraPhone/SmartPhone).
All in all aside that K850 has a Xenon Flash, I can say that the Camera is the only thing that you can compare in these two. coz' there are both equal in this comparison. (Nokia 5MP VS SE 5MP)
Let's say this K850 is already available and somehow you get to test both K850 and N95 personally then thats the time you can write what you think is good or bad & which is the best or not. Ciao!

YES WE CAN COMPARE apples with oranges. Yes the BMW is way better than a Ford...WHEN YOU BUILD a NEW phone like the K850 with a super image camera BUT cant put any device that matters like the WIFI and GPS AND MORE important than those features: THE VIDEO RECORDING VGA 30fps doesn't come with the phone...Its a shiti QVGA(resolution of 2004)I WILL not this phone IF more than $400US!!!

N95 is a smartphone and K850 is a camera phone. Don't take a smartphone to compare with a camera phone. It is like comparing a 4WD with a sedan. They are meant for different type of users even though both may share the same type of engine. Come on, let's make sense. Don't make people laugh at you.

I'm totally agreed with you. I don't get it why some people are comparing k850 with n95. You guys should compare the n95 with the w960.(both are smartphone) Btw, the n95 is more expensive than the k850.

umm... You need to get your facts straight. First, the n95 does have image stability features when recording. Plus, the n95 can record at a full vga resolution at 30fps, while the k850 only does qvga... The n95 also has a more versatile, and capable o/s, (symbian 9.2 w/sp 1) all while boasting a more powerful, dual cpu. Does the k850 have a dedicated 3d accelerator? Does it have a dedicated video encoding/decoding engine? Does it have a direct tv video and audio output? Does it have a FULL html web browser, with flash 8 functions? The nokia does, along with ALL their latest symbian phones. In fact, i'm writing this post with my lowly n76.. (which still has a faster processor, and more ram than this SE)
Pretty sure this phone doesn't have near the features that the n95 does... So, stop comparing apples to oranges.

This will be the best fone when on th market.Nokia and Samsung must take a good look at this fone because they are far behind.I have got a sony ericsson W800i and i am very happy with it.This K850 will be my next fone.Sony ericsson is the best fone and will always be one step ahead of the others.

That summarises it, and I may have missed out more stuff. Basicly depends on what you want. SE always brings out phones to different sections in the market. Depends what section you see yourself in.
By the way, I just seen someone posting out a youtube video showing a prototype K850 and complaining that camera is not ready. Well when the real thing with a perfectly ready camera comes out, we buy that one, and you can stick with your prototype. It's just irritating to see posts written with no common sense, sorry.

Since my previous post "mysteriously" got deleted, iam reposting it. Hopefully it would stay this time.
People complaining about WiFi and GPS? Oh my days, be grateful a bit. Whos gonna use wifi? Get a life. This phone is just EXCELLENT. I take it if they did put WiFi, GPS and everyfin else pple wud start coming up wif "but it doesnt have a keyboard, it wud be great if it had a 102 button keyboard, and wheres da mouse!". Come ooon! SE is not so desperate to cram its excellent quality fones wif fings like WiFi, GPS, toast maker or shower head kinda silly features. They makes fones of reasonable functions, if its a camera fone an Image stabiliser and accelerometer and automatic lens cover (iinnggeenioouus) is in my opinion perfecly reasonable. I am not gonna expect my camera fone to have an automatic screen wiper on top of all it has already. And optical zoom? How many fones have you seen that has optical zoom?! Yes I agree its questioning to have low resolution video, but does it not say QVGA (30 fps) anyway? This fone is just excellent. Nokia was good when fones were just fones, when cameras and music players and stuff came in, i fink they hit the ceiling, where sony ericsson took over. And don't forget, its not only Sony, its also ERICSSON.
And to add to that, all dis "Nokia beat SE, Nokia is better than SE, this phone is ugly" stuff I am seeing here is only making me think Nokia is paying a few geeky, silly people who have nothing better to do, to come here and throw mud at something i can compare to as saphire. All the innovation I am seeing in phones recently are coming from SE. Landscape oriented picture taking: SE, followed by Nokia. Lens covers: SE, followed by Nokia. Real Xenon flash: SE, followed by Nokia. Walkman player: SE, trying to be followed by Nokia. And look what we have now, Automatic lens cover, Accelerometer, Image Stabiliser. We'll surely see when Nokia adopts these Sony Ericsson innovations, whereas Sony Ericsson has NO NEED to adopts any of Nokia's childish features. And those who are saying the extra SE GPS accessory is just so Sony Ericsson earns more money, how about >choosing< to pay 120 for the GPS or paying 120 extra for a fone wif GPS that you didnt want anyway (N95)? SE fones are much cheaper than Nokia, and I think its perfectly reasonable that you can choose what features you want by the use of accessories, including TV-Out!

Keiki your point is no point!! If the K850 is just a cameraphone what are FM radio, a camcorder, MP3 player and internet browsing doing on the phone?? Face the facts; the K850 is a MULTIMEDIA DEVICE. You cannot run or hide away from this fact. The K850 has a terrible fault in that the browser does not support WLAN. If its a system limitation, they should change the system. Instead of enjoying internet browsing at WiFi hotspots you will be miserable taking photos of the buildings. Browsers without WLAN are crippled.

Hey guys i just saw a video of K850i. The phone they just sent out is prototype, lot of features that are to be used, the phone says it is unavailable, but the UI is quite different, the accelerometer is cool, Even the camera module is under construction. The autofocus feature in the camera module is also unavaiable, so this phone isnt a beta version too.......... So dont compare anything with N95 or anyother 5 megapixel camera concerned, until the final version is out. not even pictures. as for the Media player is concerned it is superb. Walkman 3 rocks. Its really amazing that how tehy have really designed such slim phone.
Also the Auto lens Cover is also cool. SE has defenitely improved this things. Just its is really cool............ i wonder how the w960 would be.............
