I think GSMarena should give a review to this much expected phone when it hits the market...

A must review(by gsmarena) for such a beautiful phone.

to me & to other would be buyers of this phone these qualities far outweigh the absence of WLAN.

okay this phone doesnt have wlan but what it does have is a battery that doesnt need to be charged everyday, a UI that wont test your patience, sound quality that wont seem to be coming out of a 1970's radio & size that wont look like you are holding a brick.

Keiki, you are talking in circles and missing the point. The K850i is a high-end phone. Whether or not it has Symbian is the problem with the manufacturer. Whether or not the browser can support WLAN is a problem with the manufacturer. This is mid-2007. What was forgivable a few years ago is no longer tolerable. To produce the top-of-the-range phone; the K850, which has a browser that is incapable of adopting WLAN means it is using the WRONG system and the browser is seriously crippled. To add insult to injury third rate video capture just leaves the impression of a phone for posing but with no useful capabilities. Remember this is a multimedia device and is now more than a phone.

yes it have automatic retractable lens cover.
MEANS : when you press cam button, the lens cover open itself and when you exit camera mode, the lens cover shut itself. It same like in the most of digital camera

                @cam
Motion sensor AKA Acellerometer. It functions in k850 is, when in camera/media player mode when you turn the phone in landscape mode the picture/video & interface it automaticaly become landscape mode. It because accelerometer detect the phone movement, and adjust the screen dispyay.

About WIFI / WLAN do anyone have read my post?

                            Nah i'll repeat again.
This k850 is not even smartphone , no symbian thingy. So, its pointless to have wifi/wlan. Because built in phone browser (currently netfront browser) is intended to browse in comppresed / reducep page with use little data traffic.
So its pointless to have wlan, unless u talk on symbian devices or windows mobile.
                            Do you even know if wifi embendead on non smartphone devices Such as: K610? K800? W850? W880? Moto v3? k1? L7? Samsung d900? U600? P310? Nokia 8800? 7390? 6280? 6233? 5070?
Or any of it if you can find.!
Nope? Good! Because having wifi/wlan is pointless in non smartphone.

So stop complaining about wifi/wlan absent. Because u are in a wrong place!

ive got the K800i in silver which i think is excellent,BUT the only thing its missing im my opinoin is a privacy feature, when you lock the keypad you cant access the phone again without entering a code this is what it needs(like on most nokias) does anyone know if the K850i is going to have this feature on it if not its going to be a poor bit of work again on sonys part.

maybe this cell is not so much about video and WAN friendly...but it surely has a better image capturing capabilities than that of Nokia. Moreover, there is no company in the market with such cyber-shot capturing mode. In terms of camera phones this is the best one till now and Sony Ericsson is leading the cell phone industry by miles ahead than that of nokia or motorola

PDPg, we all know you're obsessed with SE but this phone has too many shortcomings. No WLAN is a serious omission Hotspots are FREE. You don't have to pay ridiculous data charges. Applications such as VoIP are done over WLAN. The phone is crippled without it. Substandard camcording in mid 2007; just ridiculous. It is becoming clear that SE woke from slumber, scratched their heads and could come up with nothing more than a K800i with a 5MP stuck in it!!

playing wise huh..well at some point,i do agree on tht but,for the past years..still..its really undeniable to say tht SE always win over nokiaBRATS.lets just wait for more info abt this battle..
