i like the phone even without a camera, it doesn't bother me,it's a great phone..to robbo, i think you can't even start with the update cuz the update requires that you have full battery or even just half bat as long as it's not batt low, so if you can't charge i think you can't do the update, mybe you can just send it back and get a new one or buy a new battery..hope i helped..

to robbo, sorry to disappoint you but, i don't think you can even start the fimware updating cuz when you update the phone, you have to have full bat satus or even just a half but, just not bat empty, so.maybe you cant update it, mybe you can buy a new bat r send it bak to sony ericsson..hope i helped

i upgraded the firmwareof my M600i, i did get all those, wma support, faster, louder through speakers but i didn't get the 20 mb free memory, but one more thing, the touchscreen responded better..and even if i didn't get the free 20 mb, this phone is still outstnding, evn without the camra, damn! this phones nice, but if they gave this a cmra, this would b the best which now is going to be the P1, holla!

the update you've done on march was already old, read my previous post about the latest version released on mid-april, and see the changes :D

I am actually a bit dissapointed :( Nice phone, good functionality but unstable software, it locks up sometimes and needs to have the battery out to turn off and reboot. The other day my touchscreen just stopped working, then it came back!! So yes, unstable software. Also having trouble with sync to PC, but that might be a PC problem (it's a new Dell with XP Pro though). Hmmm, what to do. and yes, I have upgraded the firmware in March when I got the phone.

                        to all M600i users:

just upgrade your firmware to this latest version:

                        Phone:
                        >>CXC 162037 R9F011
                        Bluetooth:
                        >>CXC 162058 R3A01
                        Organizer:
                        >>CXC 162071 R6A16
                        CDA:
                        >>CDA 162011/2 R6A13

you'll be achieving these "major" software changes:
                        -Faster
                        -WMA supoprt!
-Transitions option found in control panel, device. Default is OFF
-Updated build of opera which seems more stable
                        -Louder through speaker
                        -20.8MB free ram!!!

I just upgraded my phone firmware to the latest available (R9F011). And I can say now that my M600i runs fast without all the transitions (since the latest firmware makes it possible to do so). So, I recommend to all of you to upgrade your firmware. Fyi: I upgraded mine at Sonyericsson Service Centre in Jakarta, free of charge if it's still under warranty.

it plays H.264 High-Quality video in VGA resolution @ 30FPS, some source says that it even beats Nokia N95 video player quality wise.

it's new successor has been approved by the FCC. it's the M610 (codename Lizzy)

source says it will now incorporate WiFi but spec wise it will not be as hardware rich as P1.

Very easy to update firmware on this phone. Just download update software from SE web and the software will arrange everything for you. You need just to plug phone to PC through USB.
