I've been using the T715 for about a month and a half now, and so far still perfect. The size is perfect IMO, nice and compact. The keypad is perfect, rubber texture and slightly raised, and good feedback when pressed. The design may be slightly boring, but I tend to like it, classy and not "loud" so to speak. Call quality is excellent, and the speakerphone, though located on the back, is loud and can be heard when phone is on it's back. I bought this phone first, then bought the Sony Ericsson w995 and Nokia 6600i phones thinking I would like them more, Nope! I'm back to the T715. I've been on the hunt for a phone for like the past 4-5 years that I can actually say I like it, and to me the T715 is that phone, thanks Sony Ericsson. The only thing to me that can make the T715 ultra-perfect is if Sony released a new one with wi-fi.

this is a cool phone! i like it so much! i don't like touchscreen phones. i like sonyericsson for a long, long time, and this is one of the greatest phones from them. i've experienced k550i, k770i. i was so pleased! and now... t715. sonyericsson rocks! buy this phone! you'll be very pleased!

I have an older SE with an M2 micro memory card will this still be compatable with the T715, this card has all my games on as i have had my older phone for about 4 years, going to def buy if it does and probably still will if it doesn't, just need a little push to make my decision. thanks

Regarding the music, I like the music of Sony Ericsson phones much more than Nokias. There are Nokia phones which are louder; but loudness is not everything. I never felt Nokia phones music output, as pleasing and comfortable as a SE phone. This phone also has the SE standards of music quality. And the media interface also better than Nokia.
And the camera...hmmm.. i'm not sure whether it meets your expectations. I think this has no autofocus and slightest movements can make it blurred. But if everything is ok and light is good, then I have got clear images. Anyway don't expect much from this than a basic 3.2 mp cam. Not having the quality of SE cybershot phones and ofcourse, i have seen better 3mp cams in Nokia phones also.(I am giving in a seperate post, the link to a sample T715 photo which appeared in a review. But that post may delayed due to moderation...)

self timer in my phone doesnt wrk n while shooting one has to keep the camera still otherwise there are multiple image like video appears.

thx for the review...amazing...... moreRest of the things can be done by installing java applications. It has excellent java support. I am using a document viewer which can open word and excel documents stored in the memory. It has Auto scroll/Find/Go options. Download it here;

once u captured a picture, PHOTO FIX it.. so that ur pictures comes even better.. u'll have to erase the 1st one u captured..

Its been 1 month with this handset. Now its time for a review.

DESIGN & ERGONOMICS...>>>>
Stylish and elegant looks. Compact also. I got the black-silver shown in this page. Slider mechanism also good and firm, though it is not the smoothest slider from SE. The keys are good to look at and work. The 2 soft keys are slim and a bit hard- but not problamatic. The D-pad is stylish and ergonomic. The call and end buttons projects a little upward so that they are easy to use. The numeric keypad is very comfortable and ergonomic to work with- good news for long 'texters'. Fast port is on the left side top, best position for using headset. The battery cover seemed a little hard at first but turned easy after using a few times. (If you feel it hard to press while closing, please see whether the notches on the other end are in proper position).
The only flaw which I see in the design is the mem card slot put under the battery cover. It still seems to support hotswap; otherwise the card would have been under the battery. Then why putting it under the cover?

Display...>>>>
It is large and spectacular. 262K or 16M- let the arguement continue; the display has high quality anywayz. There is a SCREEN LIGHT SENSOR near the earpiece which automatically adjusts the screen brightness with changing environment light conditions. This saves battery power also. (Don't get confused if You see the display light fluctuating)
The display has excellent sunlight clarity, the light sensor also helps this.

CALL FUNCTIONS...>>>>
Good signal reception. Excellent call clarity and volume. The loudspeaker is very loud for listening calls(not for music)- the loudest that I have seen. All the in-call features like conference, record etc are there. But if a bluetooth handsfree is paired with the phone, then while a call comes in, the right button option changes to 'transfer sound' from 'loud speaker'. When I select 'transfer sound', the list has handsfree and loud speaker. So 3 keystrokes are nedded to reach the loudspeaker, other wise i could turn on speaker by simply pressing the right soft key. I felt this a little inconvenient so I unpaired the BT handsfree while not using it.
And there comes the only HANDICAP of this phone- IT DOESN'T HAVE A FRONT CAMERA FOR VIDEO CALL! This is the annoying part from SE- they don't give all facilities but withheld something like this. It has 3G support and still one has to depend the main camera for video calls.

USER INTERFACE...>>>>
That same SE interface which we are familiarwith, with a number of improvements which is seen in the new generation SE handsets. One of these innovations is the 'smart search' function. To get a contact, one simply needs to type the first few letters in stand by, as we type in T9 mode. All the combinations of these letters will be listed- scroll to the desired, then we can call/open/message/edit and so.. An intelligent feature. This feature had been seen in some earlier samsung phones.
And many more improvements in the software and UI such as save messages to memory card, conversation view in messages(sms to a particular contact viewed in a chat manner), attractive menu layouts, new MEDIA interface, adding and viewing by photo tags, shortcuts an be pointed to particular java applications, and many more..
This phone supports flash themes. There are so many swf themes and swf wallpapers available in the web, most of which are working clocks and battery indicators. Flash menus are also supported; I installed a few- but this should be done with care as we are hacking into the phone file system. I did it with a2uploader.
The interface is fast.

MUSIC...>>>>
The music player is incorporated in the common MEDIA menu. Music player is advanced, having Album/Artist/tracks/playlists.. time up and down.. megabass..stereo widening.. The sound through the phone's speaker is good and loud enough. When I say loud enough, the loudness is indeed above average, but it doesn't come under the very loud handsets available now. However the music output of a SE phone is always very pleasing. But I am not very satisfied with the way mp3 ringtones are heard, while the phone rings. It is different than when it is played.
The music quality through the given MH 300 headset is very clear and bass can be added with megabass option or manual equaliser. If you want high bass, use an hpm-62 headset but then equalisers like voice will suit better since the headset itself has high bass. MH-300 is more comfortable to the ears than hpm-62 the latter being made larger for more bass.
Overall, it is a very good music experience with T715.

CAMERA/IMAGE VIEWER...>>>>
An average 3.2 MP camera. Or slightly above average. Not the best 3.2 out there anyway. Still it is good. Usual settings are available. I don't find much use for the LED light; it shouldve been a xenon flash. Video recording also average- QVGA mp4 @ 15fps.
Image Viewer in MEDIA has all the basic features- landscape/zoom etc- and more. There are preset slideshow templates which are nice. However the media showing all hidden and unnecessary pictures is a bad thing.

JAVA/INTERNET...>>>>
The java support is excellent. It supports most of the java platforms. The permission settings has 3 options- default/trusted and custom. If we trust the app, the annoying confirmations can be avoided. Operamini 4 is working very well, so as many other useful apps. It has some pre-loaded applications also. Google location finder is interesting. It gives our current location almost correctly without GPS! (using mobile tower signals) There are the facebook, twitter and Youtube apps and some standby/wallpaper applications. Inteernet also good using EDGE- I have not get 3G network yet.

BATTERY...>>>>
Impressive. I got a best of 3.5 days with essential usage only and worst was nearly 2 days with heavy use and a java application- cuckoo clock- running on background. Expect an average of 2.5 to 3 days.

OVERALL, it is worth for the price, a stylish and functional phone with good music and above average rating in almost all areas. The absense of front video call camera is the only defect I felt. Also the camera could have been better (-still it is not bad).

In my phone too, many such images are wrongly shown in camera album part of media. Anyhow I consider it as a bug. A hidden image is one which is supposed to be hidden everywhere- whether it is album art or another. It should not have been displayed in the media.
