I have had this phone for almost a year and it is a perfect phone! There are people who complain about peeling off from the cover. I have not experienced such a thing. Mayble other people tamper a lot with their phones and hence this problem. The battery life is okay, about 5 to 6 days with an average use, the speakerphone is not that loud but enough

nice phone,, my dad gave it to me a month ago, so far no problem. aside from the virus that comes from its memory card, it slows down a bit,, but still, I love it.

guys you can see k530i instead of w710i b'cause k530 comtain 3G and the same camera(2mp),and great PROCESSOR SPEED exceeding nokia N95,It also enables GPS by connecting HGE-100, which is not seen in w710i.I request to the guy's please also verify k530 in this website about k530 great function and also read the enthusiastic user opinions of k530i.

I want to buy this phone,cuz it looks nice especially the violet one. I have seen this in real only picture,but I am still not sure if I want this one, cuz I am looking for a flip up but is this the right, does anybody can give me some advice ????

hi all,
my wife got one of these more than a year ago and no major issues.
Until about a month ago - when a call comes in and you open up, no audio via normal telephone speaker set-up (only if diverted to loudspeaker). Similar thing if she calls - you can see connection to the caller, but no audio (again, unless going to loudspeaker route).
Got a exchange phone via Vodacom here in South Africa, but then same problem after a few good calls...
Anyone had the same problem?

is this walkman phone really that bad? or is it up to the user and how he/she uses it? i mean, it's so cool looking.... and i was thinking of buying one but if it has a lot of faults, i'm having 2nd thoughts...

Anybody ever have the 2 pieces of pastic on both sides of the hings for the face plate piece come off? WTF! Why are they comming off! They never even get touched!

Peeling of rubber strap is covered under warranty. But in order to get the new rubber strap under warranty , you have to hand over them the damaged strap.

I totaly agree wid "krazyfrog"..dis phone has a lot of gud qualities..but at da same time it has misadvantages that i hate soo much..i had it 4 abt 7 months now..i liked it @ 1st..n liked its shape n da walkman..but now i wanna replace it..a new problem just appeared 2 me: da alarm doesnt work wen da phone is switched off..actually dis phone is drivin me crazy :S:S

Guys, about the rubber peeling off - does Sony cover this under warranty? Is superglue a safe option to use - doesn't it bugger the body or electronics of the phone?

This phone got a lot of positive-strong points but it also got the negative points... This phone is the best phone in the world more than you'll ever know. Look at the bright side you w710 users. Using this phone needs a lot of responsibility especially its rubber......

I have this phone since the last 9 months and these are the things I like to say about it:
The Good things-
The design is very nice. Everyone who saw the phone agrees with me on this.
The external screen is really large and useful.
The alpha-numeric keypad is really large and very easy to use.
The display is very crisp and bright.
Sound quality through headset is excellent.
External music controls are very useful.
Fitness app is a nice feature.
Ability to minimize java apps. Also capable of running more than one java apps at once and can easily switch between them using the Activity menu.
Decent browser for a non-smartphone.
Track ID feature is fantastic.
Now the Bad things-
The external rubber peels!!!
The centre selection key on the D-pad is impossible to use without hitting other keys. Also the chrome on the D-pad wears off.
No zooming of images and fullscreen view in file manager!
No fullscreen landscape more in video player!
Phone switches off for no reason. Also the light switches while using the phone for no reason.
Camera images not upto the mark. Disgusting quality of recorded video.
Loudspeaker not loud enough (for music and for ringtones).
Phone memory only 17mb.
Cannot playback files with .aac extension (works flawlessly in Nokias). Also .rm files don't appear in Walkman player.
Fast post collects all the dust in the world and the headset and charger does not work reliably.
Battery life not impressive, especially with heavy use of gprs/edge.
Phone takes ages to start and become fully functional.
FM radio not sensitive enough to work indoors.

dis is a useless phone. everything went wrong. as for most users the flap gets very loose and wen u xceed the limit its beyond repairing. utterly useless. the screen is rubbish. i could have like with the poor resolution and less colors but i cant use this with NO COLORS on the skreen. its completely blank. da hedset is rubbish. connectors went lose after some time. oh you know wat!!!!! da bloody bit of rubber starts peeling off. F***!!!!!! & cant use more than a 512 card. da bloody thng slows down and get stuck!!!!!!!! F***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been using this phone for over a year. Good phone, very user-friendly with great button feel and usage. Droped hard onto concrete a few times and still working good.
Only problem for me.. Grey Rubber at the side started coming off which made the phone ugly. Had to superglue it back on.

I have this model W710 and have a big problem.Sometimes if anybody call me I am not available and if I see that problem any way to solve that is to open the top cover and I will be available.If anybody have same problem plese to give me any sugestion what I need to do.

i am a little confused when i went out to buy this people said don't buy it .. it's flap gets loosened.. and isn't that much of a recommended phone
it's camera isn't all that 2MP
people are saying spend a little more and go for 5310
i really wanted a flap, but what do you people say what should i buy 5310 or w710i?
i really need an urgent response .. need to buy till monday max.
