why would'nt it

I have a question. Will it work in Canada . Just want to know if it's second or third generation cellular technology phone ?

Is it okay to scratch off the Vodafone logo with a razor sharp knife and replace it with a Walkman logo (like with the W705) without actually having to get a W705?
