They just say that the resolution is 1600*1200 pixels, but in fact, it is exactly the same as w800i. It is like with memory cards: it doubles (e.g. 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 and eventually 1GB which is in fact 1024MB.)
But I agree, the screen should have improved as well as the camera. Also, wifi would be great.
I'm waiting for walkman version of k800: it will be a blast.

i have been looking for a new phone to replace my d500 as from a yr and a half of abuse from me it has started to die i was lookin at the e900 but it looks like we may have a new runner in the contest as i already have a 2gb pro duo hehe.. cant wait to see the real thing :D if it comes out in australia!

Beautiful design - the keypads are cool but why cant SE make one M-series like this? I mean a slide phone WITHOUT camera. MPs are becoming boring toys

i'm a user of se W800i n i think that it's better than the new se w850i...
just take a look at the camera of the w800i(1632x1224 pixels) whereas the w850 camera is only 1600x1200 pixels...they are both 2MP but the 2MP of w850 is like nokia 2MP phones...
think twice before buying the W850...
go and compare photos taken by the k750i 1632x1224 pixels(same as W800i) and photos taken by the nokia N90 which is a 2MP phone of 1600x1200 pixels..then u will see the difference...1632x1224 pixels is much BETTER

Design looks something different to all today sliders, for me is great, the walkman player v2.0 is interesting and camera is average ¿¿without autofocus?? 1gb of memory pool is great.
W850 is great walkman phone and design beats all nokias Xpress music handsets (the ugly bricks 3250 and N91)

I thought this is the greatest walkman phone ever when it is looks much much better than samsung silder phones. It has everything that we expect to have. However when i read upon there is no autofocus i am disappointed. Thought of changing it from w800i to w850i once comes out but i have to change my plan and it looks like w900i is still the perfect walkman phone right now. 2megapixel without autofocus is like a mp3player without the headset for you to listen.

Whoooaaahh!!! Surprising SE!!. D design is kinda weird but i like it! and its features is promising and competitive too..though it lacks some very important features..like autofocus&infra red as some says..but this one is really cool..juz looking at it gives a different feeling..feels like your in outer space and your using an aliens hightech gadget..well, its juz what i feel..hehe..nice work SE;-p

About the design, each person has different taste.
To me this phone is the best-looking slide phone ever! much better than Samsung's and LG's.
Besides,U can trust SE phones' function.
Right now i m using Samsung D600 because of the cool slide design and relatively big display. But talking about functions, SE is way better! I really miss my K700c and T618.

The phone looks stunning, SE have made it a reputation to produce stylish phones. It is a 3g phone, and details about the battery life is not officially let out.
One concern i have is does the phone come with in built memory stick ? we need to wait and watch the phone's sucess !

WOW, for me this is the best Walkman phone of Sony Ericsson.
Cant't everyone see, it's slide up, 3G, music phone, and has memory stick duo.
This is great!
I love slide up phones,
when i see this, it made me think twice on what phone will i buy. W900i or W850.
well i guess i have my choice already.

Great Phone, lovely design,greta colours, just hope for 2 things:
1/since it's a 3G phone i hope that the battery life is ok when you use it as a walkman?!
2/I wish they had put a 3.2 Megapixel camera instead of the 2 megapixel
