My Friend Geffery carroll has the W888 he originally was using the w880 due to learning difficulties he did struggle to work out how to use it to its full potential. he is now using the W888 and finds it very easy to use well done Sony Ericsson

I am of the opinion that certain people judge a phone from the number of functions it features, no matter whether they are useful to them or not! I was waiting for this phone cause I dont need 3G and or the goodies W880 has to offer (at a price of course!) I need a slim phone with certain functions but a good talking time and a 2MP camera-what to do with 3 or 5? I have my Canon EOS for that!!! Let's be real!

You guys are missing the point. Yes it is exactly the same as w880 without the 3G, but not everyone will have 3G coverage or will want to use it. This version is for people who want the phone for what is primarily is, a walkman phone. And without the 3G in it, people would be able to get it fo significantly less.

ma opinion, ericsson is at the top of the mobile list. de look is great, the ideas r even better, & the menu and services r sooo simple. it aint as complicated as nokia and motorola. but its always 'walkman & camera', cmmon man wt de hell!

what is the use of this phone. i have the w880 in this colour with many features which this phone does not have including two cameras which this also doesn not have. come on ericsson why dont you bring out the w950 with the two cameras now that will be something to smile about.

wot is the point it seems 2 do evrythin da w880 does except the 3g...its exactly the same minus the 3g,

Other than the fact the W880 has 3G and w888 doesn't, is there any other differences? Doesthe W880 have chinese input else well or no? Please help me on which one to get, I don't really need 3g. Thanks.

I recently got this phone as my upgrade, I found it really slow and after having previous Sony Ericsson phones I was really disappointed. The buttons are awkward with them being so small, but you do eventually get used to them. I tried this phone for two weeks before exchanging it as I thought it was so awful. I exchanged it for a Samsung U600 which is excellent.

the options are limited, while the w810 have more opcion to conectivity.

New walkman phone with no new features i think sonyericsson loves to remain behind all cellphone companies have start putting some thing new in there phones what the hell this phone is QVGA screen with 1.8" of diameter 2 Megapixel camera with no autofocus No FM poor speaker This phone is really waste of money W810i is still best walkman phone rest of all new walkman are crap SE just reduceing features with every new phone what the hell SE is doing?

i have planned to buy a new mobile with good memory capasity and feature can any one please tell me when w888 will be available in the market. i am from india.
here,
cost of the following in local market
w880i-Rs. 23000
k550i-Rs. 11500 with 64mb card
w700i-Rs. 10900 with 256mb card
k750 -Rs. 9000 with 64mb card
n70 -Rs. 14500 with 128mb card
n72 -Rs. 13500
6280 -Rs. 13500 with 64mb card
in all the above
w880i is tremendous in feature but costly, w700i and k750 are the bestin sound, economic with all features. nokia is good i feel 6280 is best in nokia but battery life is not so good. in that i appresiate w700i
i think based on you oppinions i not going to buy k550i.
i am expecting w888 to come. but this is not shown in sony ericsson website. that is the hardest part

you are alarmist only,Please listen to my word. i mean i like i want prodigious and stylishly mobile phone i want large touch screene 8.1 maega pixale ccd camera i want high definition HD technology i want syber-shot.hadycam.vaio.play station.bravia.hifi.dvix.DTS soud. S-master digital amplifier technology.windows XP.in W1000.steele body. memory 100GB..... i have a sonyericsson.like.no.other?
