This phone is crap.
I had the w880 and loved it very much and upgraded to the w890.
From new, out of the box, It says INACTIVE SIM and then switches itself off randomly. Sometimes 5-6 times in a row. During this time the power button doesn't work. Must remove the battery. This happens about 5 times per day and sometimes when it's only lying on the desk. I'm not even using or handling it, then it shuts down.
Software upgrade didn't work. My service provider swapped my phone out with a refurbished 2nd hand unit which did the same. Now with the 2nd swap out, looks like it's fine now.
Very disappointing.

this is the worst sony ericsson i have ever had. it keeps turning it self off plus the walkman part of phone is rubbish does not work only had phone a year load of grap.

guys..such a lovely little phone...sleek,handy,great sound,pictures r really gud..no probs so far..been usin for 16months....check for updates...it really helps the phone....i have W902 also..but i feel betta n comfy with W890i...

i love dis phone very much..just take care of your phne,then it will be ok..any phne will have problem lolx..

I have the same problem with my W890, it just wont ring yet the music functions work perfectly fine. Any suggestions anyone?

I have use this phone for 1years. It's good phone n good sound. the speaker not to loud but clear sound.
I think it's a characteristic of sony phone, sometime restart by itself.
I've use walkman from the first w800i until w902 same characteristic phone.

My W890i, 3months after purchase, the ringtone alert and message alert completely fail. Only works on vibrate. The musics, video sounds all work ok.
please can anyone help me to solve this problem !

very nyc 4ne!!! i had problem with the software bt suddenly the phone speaker just went dead, the 4ne doesn't ring it just vibrate

I just buy one of this phone.
But when i make a call message like "ciphering is not provided bu operator.Insecure transmission" appear.
Why its appear?
How to make the message not appear again?

pretty good but have had the same problems as milla. just a pain really. take the battery out and it resets itself. comes and goes.

after sometime the phone starts to turn off and freeze, as the time goes on the phone is more difficult to manege with. not the gratest phone, but is good for the usual things such as calling people!
