Yes, the W series does not have good cameras but it's a "Walkman" phone so it's meant for Music NOT photos, which is meant for the K/C series!
It would be nice if SE would finally listen to people and ADD the autofocus and flash but they probably won't (at least in the neaer future). Still, the camera is isn't bad except that it's meant ONLY for daytime shots and close-up shots!

The Camera cannot zoom while using 3,2,1 megapixel..only can zoom if using VGA!!

Ok, had the phone for a day now and I really do like it. It sure is small and I am having a right giggle trying to text because the buttons are so bloody close that I seem to be writing in russian or something.LOL.. I will agree that the sound from the speakers certainly isn't the loudest and I reckon that when I receive a call from somebody whilst I'm out I will struggle to hear it BUT that's why we have vibrate isn't it?. Anyway, in short. The phone feels solid, love the way the battery cover locks into place, typicla easy to use sony ericsson which I'm sure I'm going to grow to love very much. However I will be getting myself a silicone cover because I'm very concerned that the silver on the buttons could soon disappear because of having to use nails when texting. Time will tell I guess.. Thanks for the advice Dani.

Clei, 02 Aug 2008i just bought my w890 2months ago. at first, it went well. ... moreAbout the charger, I have had experinced the same problem with the same type of jack that's on w890 in my k510. The problem was when you connect the charger it doesn't charge or it repeat the charging visual and sound notification. The answer was simple clean the bright copper jack with a tissue. Its propably dust. And try rubbing your hand againist the charger pointed copper pins. So you could be sure that the pins tips are clean as well as the copper jack that contacts it. I had this problem after a year of having the mobile. Taking into consideration that I usually plug the phone in the charger as soon as I can. Weither its battery needs or doesn't.

wOw its a great music phone if yuo love music its the right direction to go trust me.
If you like an ordinary mobile then tghe c702 is the choice however SE makes differ models for each person deciding on his or her choice of features,

i just bought my w890 2months ago. at first, it went well. but now im experiencing some problems. everytime i charge the phone, the phone is not charging. i thought the problem was the charger but when i tried another charger still it doesnt charge unless a moved it several times. and second, my phone hangs all the time. will formatting the memory card and master resetting help solve the hang problems? is there any1 of you having the same prob as i am? dani pls help. thanx! ill surely appreciate it

Anyways, in reply to that battery problem, its because the battery isnt placed firmly enough in the Phone, its a common thing with SE phones, but not a hassle. Just take the battery out, shake it up a bit hard, then put it back in firmly and apply a little pressure. That and a new software update should resolve the problem.
But if it still persist, do what the guy said, get a different battery model if you go some extra cash.
SE rules. 890i is possibly next phone. Depending if the G900 is under 700 bucks new.

Used the BST-40 battery instead of the BST-33 battery that came with the phone and the phone life is now ~10-12 days without a recharge!
OK... just using the phone and rarely the music player but that's damn good life for a phone!
So if using the media player drains faster, the BST-40 battery, used in the P1i, is the best choice for anyone who'd like usage of the phone!

Well ive had the w890i since march. It turns itself off and ive had 3 exchanges and yet still no joy. It last for a month then starts it all over again, ive tried software updates and things but still no joy. Is anybody else having this issue??

Hi people. I've been a sony ericsson lover for years now but I got a C902 on an upgrade a month ago and after FOUR replacements it had to go back altogether. I am now awaiting a W890i and I am wondering if somebody can be totally honest and tell me whether I'll be happy with my choice?. Take into account that my favourite ever phone was the w810i. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks

i turned off my 3g for a longer period of time. then now that i turn it on the symbol that shows is H. what does it mean? what happend?
