SE's headdset CONTAINS 3.5 mm jack.
Besides, SE's headset is the best.
Oh by the way, Walkman supports more audio format than Xpressmusic. Want proof? check out the specs on their official website and white paper.

i cant believe you all bought a music phone which doesnt have a 3.5mm jack
get an xpress music phone. with samsung audio chips, if you actually cared about music, you would get an xpressmusic phone.
they are dedicated music phones which are all about music convenience, plug in and go, no nonsense.
they also support more formats than the SE's do.
just my two cents.

I am sorry that you having problem (not alone) with the W890.
I guess you got the one which can make good pictures but the reception is BAD!
Others got acceptable reception but lousy pictures.
Before the fanatics explain your problems away and accuse you with anything they can think of - I suggest replace the phone (get another W890). I guess it is more important to able to make call then have a phone to make pictures.
Let us know about the new phone.

Some fanatics say:the flash is useless - not needed. I wonder if someone would recommend a different phone how much they would ridicule the set if it has no flash but the SE one would have.
I think flash is not only a good thing (many SE phone have one - the better ones)but it is ESSENTIAL for any decent phone with a camera.
Another argument was made that this phone is an entry level phone so the expectation should not be high - entry level????

Well the priced dropped but if SE got his way it would still sell for 400-500 USD..
After price dropped, but still about 300USD - I do not think that is an entry level phone price!!!!
If the price will be around 200-250 USD I would not miss the larger screen, the WIFI. But the lack of flash is a huge mistake at all price!

This phone what it is! For some it is a huge headache for others my be an exceptable phone.
Yes, all new phones drop its price SLOWLY as you have said. 30% drop only in 6 week is not slow for me - let the readers decide for themselves.

It is a very nice phone. Picture quality is excellent. It doesn't need a flash, it takes good photos inhouse. I am having problems with reception. When the signal is weak, where other phone can still call, I cant make a call. Sometimes it loses the signal completely. Is anybody else experiencing it as well?

I got my W890 about 2 weeks ago and I have nothing but trouble with it - actually them because it was replaced once.
It keeps turnig off! I have missed tons of calls - what a piece of junk.
I was lucky and the store replaced it. They told me some of the other phones did the same and not just the W890.
The second one has problem with its software. Very slow when I look for numbers and as a walkman sucks because it stops playing or goes to the next song.
They told me to send it to get it fixed under warranty, but nobody can tell me how long it will take.
Today I will send it in.
Customer service is always busy and I can not get a straight answer from them except that they are very busy and how sorry they are.
Nice slim phone but totally unreliable.
I let you know after they fixed how well it works.
I was not too hapy with the picture quality, even the day-time pictures with good light looked grainy and out of focus.
STAY AWAY FROM THE W890!

This is a walkman phone.
So a music phone doesn't really need WiFi does it? No, no it does not.
If you want WiFi there's pleanty of phones that do have them, if you want a walkman phone and WiFi theres lots of them around too use the search button on the top right hand corner, that's what it's there for.
You can get this cool package with this phone that comes with MPS-30 portable speakers for a limited time. (Clearly emphasising the fact it's a music phone)
If you want a music phone i suggest this one.
FM radio, 2GB memory stick (that's like 800 songs), TrackID - Music recognition (So if you hear a song on the radio and you wanna know the name of it you just let the TrackID listen to it and it will tell you the name, artist, album, etc), it has SensMe so you can create playlists by mood, what more could you need?
One thing that was cool with the w910 and w580 was the walkman button which you press and shake the phone and it shuffles the playlist. If this one had it it would be perfect

that list you have wrote about the things W890i doesnt have.
it doesnt need those things.
W890i is made for a Price range, its made for a Price tag
its not overpriced, every phone has a high price at first then it slowly drops.
as for the those features that W990i doesnt have ..the phone is made to a Budget for a price tag so SE wouldnt overload it with features.
if you Wi-Fi GPS Symbian Good Camera.....get the W960i !!!!
if you want a Slim Good everyday Music Phone with great features.. W890i is Perfect.

I am not important here.
People can go and check things out for themself. They can see that the W890 does NOT have:
- flash
- autofocus
- Wifi
- good net surfing due to small screen
- good battery life - should be recalled
- good speakers - low volume
- good playback quality
- large memory (only 32MB - other phones have GBs)
- good buttons (too small for most people)
All people can see these.
The sales are slow, the W890ś whole design feminine - it is for chicks (girls) or kids.

As far as other brands - I ma not talking about any other brand -
I guess you just can not accept the fact that I do not recommend other brand.
As far as SE superior quality - I guess you are minority - since over 90% of the market thinks there is better than SE.
That is their opinion (not mine) :)
I know it is hard for you to comprehend - I have never recommended any other phone brand.
If you so happy with SE , why ....
You really think that SE needs you to.... with a billion USD for PR and advertisement?

To answer the question that was addressed to me:
Many many people miss the flash on the W890!
People debate whether Xenon or Led is better - SE solved this problem for the W890 - NO FLASH at all!
Autofocus is also essential for a good phone with a camera - not only for camera phones.
Yes, some do not need Wifi, GPS etc.
But, remember this: the W890 original price was 500 USD!!!! For that the unit should able to do something besides making a call wit ha lousy battery.
Many people realized that I guess and sales has been slow. Only on this forum I here all the time that I have got my W890 2 mos ago. These people paid 500USD or got employees discount or do not have the phone.
I do not think anybody can be happy when you clearly bought an overpriced unit which lost its new price more than 35%!
(the used price is even less)
The sales are still slow.
Hopefully the g900 will be a great phone!
SE has to learn from its mistakes.
Sony Style is just not enough on this market - consumers need performance and reliability!

The speakers are lousy and weak(keep it to your nose and you may hear some stereo effect).
The W910 has better sound (wired).
The W890 need s firmware update badly.
And as a walkman not that great.
But, I am sure some W890 fanatics will debate everything I have said with their exceptionally high level of reasoning skill.
I recommend to all potential users - go and try the unit. You will experience yourself. you do not need anybody´s manipulative opinion.
