thanks,, i was in megamall this afternoon and i went to mega exchange to check out the w950i and its currently out stock, i tried to search to other stores and still negative,, well i guess ur ryt, i shuld go with p990i

yeah my first start up took about 4 minutes, i thought at first the phone is sluggish already due to its time constraint during start up, hmm I havent tried yet how long it will take for it to start up the second time I will put it off.. i'm kinda bored with my p990i already.. haha I thought I can live without music playing on my phone, but I was thinking of buying a 2 Gb memory stick and pair it out with a bluetooth headset so that i can maximize the potential of my phone..

its both good phones, w950 very stylish phone,
but p990i has more to offer you,
so i think you should go with p990i,
everything that w950i can do, the p990i can do it too, you see w950i has touchscreen and has 4gig memory and has great music, thats all it can offer you, p990i has those things too you can upgrade the memory, it can play music and its touchscreen, but it has office applications and camera, wifi that w950i doesnt have..
the speed of the phone is just the same, they both have 180mhz processor speed and 64 mb ram...
p990i will serve you much better.

im thinking of getting w950i for now its on top of my list, since my budget goes on 9000-13000, which is worth to buy? p990i or w950i,, thanks,, please help me out,, im having hard time making decisions

yes its in cyberzone, i saw it in mega exchange about last week of november and i saw the price was 11k, i thought of buying it but instead i bought p1i in dec 8...

there lots of w950i in malls,in a cheaper price already because its 2yrs old, i saw 1 in megamall and its just 11k...
and its brand new from authorized service center, are you sure your p990i is brand new???
90percent of the phones in greenhills is 2nd hand, and they are saying its new... but they are lying.. if your p990i didnt load up for 4-5minutes time, if it load faster than that, im very sure its 2nd hand, the SE staff explained it to me when i bought a p1i in sony ericsson store, when he first opened my p1 it load for 5 minutes, he said thats how you will know if a p-series phone is brand new and never been opened until you buy it, it will load for 5 minutes when its opened for the first time, and the succeeding is faster , like mine when we first opened it, it load for 4 minutes, but after that its loading for just a minute everytime i opened it...

im back! sadly I was not able to find one w950i here in the philippines specifically in greenhills later this afternoon. there was one but it was 2nd hand dont want to risk my savings for that though, so i planned to get a p990i instead and i am happy with it got a good deal from the seller coz my friend know the seller and I got a lifetime warranty haha that's what she said and i thought she was joking but she placed it in the receipt maybe she is serious after all. And anyways i asked her about w950i sadly she said that it was phased out already and they did not keep stocks of it because according to themits not saleable unlike the other models available..

im planning to buy this phone later!Im going to change from my n91 to this, do you think its worth it? and I sold kase my ipod so im planning to have a two in one phone for the meantime.. I mean the design is superb! and the features specially on the walkman side!im really thinking this last few days if i really need a camera on my phone but i remember those days that i had my n91, i barely used the camera except for taking pictures of my classmates notes and zooing it later haha anyways, I've maade up my mind!!!! im going to buy this!!!!

This is, for me the best walkman phone that i've had! ^_^ Great sound quality! Plus, just recently, i got a MDS-70 Home Audio System from Sony Ericsson (kinda costly) which boosted up the performance of the phone really well! ^_^ i could actually say good bye to my old stereo and hello to my new "room sound system" W950i + MDS-70 is really something. For anyone who loves to take pictures go for the SE K-Series (cyber shot) models, for music lovin dudez and dudets out there, the W-series rocks (particularly a cheap, and practical music phone, the W950i rocks)the W960i is also another option for the hybrid type of people who loves pictures and music. ^_^ Cheers all!

something goes wrong ! when your phone is standby , if you have any missed call or message , you can see the large popup , which tells you " 1 or 2 or ... missed calls or messages " !! if you don't see them at that moment , the large popup disappears and a flash or message pocket , appears on task bar !
But , when your mobile is standby and you receive a file via beam connection ( like bluetooth ) , the screen doesn't turn on ! ofcourse when you turn it on , you see the alarm popup again !

Before you buy this phone you might consider asking yourself this question:
What do I want from my phone?
If you know the answer to this then I'll explain why the no.1 negative comment about this phone not having a camera is irrelevant.
Now, we all like pictures, so if picture taking is an important feature then you need a camera, but find a camera phone with decent megapixels and a REAL flash for night shots, ok, you want the W850i then don't you? It's a good phone with a good camera but...
You can't store up to 1000+ aac+ encoded music files, you can't listen to internet radio as well as FM. You're stuck with the horrible software it ships with so no new browser or video player that can playback xvid, divx media etc. No new media player for music or gameboy advance emulator to play nintendo games or photo editors or email clients or virtually any piece of software you can think of. This phone is a multimedia marvel. It's awesome beyond comparison. I usually carry around 6 or so full length movies to watch on that gorgeous 2.9" touchscreen and about 600 mp3 files as well as virtually all the apps I'd use at home on my pc. I play gameboy games, listen to shoutcast internet radio, read my email, browse the real internet and download files, open archives, the list just goes on and on.
Believe me, you won't miss the camera, and if you really, really arn't swayed yet then ask Sony about the W960i.

i received this phone as a gift from a friend, the problem i am facing is that this phone doesn't find any 1800 frequency, even though its unlocked and no network or subnetowrk locks are there. i tried automatic and manual network search and no use.
Does anyone have an idea about this problem or how to solve it?

I just bought this phone a few days ago, but there is something I don't like, maybe there's someone here who can help?
When I have a missed call and my phone goes in stand-by (screen light turns off), I don't see anything on the screen that says I have a missed call. Anyone knows if I can make it show some icon or something on the screen that I have a missed call (in stand-by mode) ?
