It works great, but you have to purchase it in order to visit secure websites (those beginning with https://) and yes, that includes some web based mail web sites (like hotmail, yahoo, etc). Pretty cheap at $.9.99 though.

I bought this handset 2 days back, paying 11.5k. Its awesome and hav upgraded OS ie. 2.1ver. Really its worthy but battery isn't good :(,,

The battery specs seem very different to reality. I am lucky to get 5 hrs standby before it dies and less than 20 min talk time. I don't seem to be alone in this. A lot of people seem to have had the same trouble. Wish I had researched better!
