Yari is much better. If you are switching from a SE Walkman phone you can use the noise cancellation headsets which has a 3.5mm jack. 5MP camera with photo light, image stabilizer and 30fps video recording. The stereo speakers gives out really smooth sound. Has 3G and browsing is fast. Shake control and MEGA BASS audio preset. Good battery life.

I am using YARI for last 5 months. Its very comfortable in using. All the features are excellant. It does not has Wi-Fi. sometimes i miss. But u cant get wi-fi everywhere, So its better to opt for GPRS, not u can easily get it at a cost of Rs. 100 as rental. Surfing speed is really very good. Other features like music, camera, and all the applications are very good. GO For it...

Nokia 5530
Pros
-3.5mm headjacl
-Wi-fi enabled
-touchscreen
-yeah that's all i got..
cons
-no 3g
-not capacitive screen
-camera could be better
-it's not as intuitive as it seems, does tend to lag if you over doing it.
- the lock system is not fitted.
Yari
pros
-3g
-slider not sure how it's a pro
-nice design
-5MP camera plus A/F and Flash
-intuitive
-simple to use
cons
-no wifi
-no 3.5 head jack
- yeah thats pretty much it
Similar features
-Stereo Speaker
-both cost cheap, maybe average
-use micro SD
Personal Opinion
Yari is good for wasting time cause of it's game, let's you use motion control,
5530 is good for music entertainment and installing software for symbian, and if you're lucky, hotspot all the way if you're covered.

Yeah wi-fi is useful if you have a hotspot, otherwise, it's useless, but if you have a 3g phone, atleast you can use it as a modem, or even surf in it if your, telco is cheap, as for Yari, it doesn't have any Wi-Fi, but if you can spend a little bit more, why not get the Aino, or Satio or even better Vivaz with HD recording^-^

I own a nokia 5530 and all i can say is that, it's pretty much an average phone, nothing special bout it, but it does serve all your need in the music department, like a 3.5mm headjack sure comes in handy, the bummer part of the phone is that the screen is not capacitive, tho it doesn't really need a lot of force to input your text like the LG Cookie which is a handfull, As for Yari, it does lack the 3.5mm headjack, but it's a slider, which makes it fancy, and it's also good if you wanna waste your time waiting by playing games, im also looking into buying it cause of it's price, not to mention the 5MP camera which is surprising good, not saying that the Nokia camera is, but could done it better, tho it's not a Carl Zeiss lens which is a bummer, but im not sure bout the Yari Video, last time i've use a Sony ericsson camera the video quality sucks, but if you're not the type of person who is cautious of that, then Yari FTW, cause nokia isn't worthwhile, but there are other factor, connectivity, i always thought that having a wi-fi would be cool, when you can access free internet over wi-fi, if you're surrounded by it it's not a problem, but i rarely used it at my school especially when they lock it, thus wi-fi is not much use if it's a locked connection, anyway, if you're using Yari, and you wanna use the internet for your laptop or computer, you can use it as a modem with 3g which the Nokia 5530 lacks, Overall, the nokia is good mostly on music, the speaker is good but not the best, really like the stereo sound, im not sure how the Yari will be but you can check youtube and see what they have to say, but this is just my opinion, don't take seriously on it, have more options.

confused dude, 23 May 2010Hello people.
I'm confused between Nokia 5530 and Sony Er... moreThis shouldn't actually be difficult as there are fundamental differences between the phones:
Nokia 5530: Wi-fi, NO 3G
Yari: NO Wi-fi, 3G
It depends how you intend to get onto the internet. The Yari is actually more comparable to the Nokia 5320, which, like it, has 3G but no Wi-fi.
Aside from that, here are the other fundamental differences:
- The Yari has significantly inferior screen resolution.
- The Yari isn't a touchscreen phone.
- The Yari has a much better camera. 5 MP vs. 3 MP
- The Yari comes with GPS.
- 5530 comes with 4 GB sd card and Yari 1 GB.
Overall, the 5530 is the more "sophisticated" phone for surfing the web and downloading apps. It also comes with a bigger SD card to carry your music. The Yari is a conventional phone with a nice camera.
