just brought z800i yesterday n its very cool phone n i like the mp3 n the videos converted to mp4 looks large on screen n nice veiwing n looks like this phone might be my another collection n connecting to sonyericsson

Hi guys, i got this phone recently, been using it for about a month or so, and so far i would give it a thumbs up.It originally comes with a standard 64MB card, which didn't really do it for me.
To Stavros1984,I wanted to upgrade it to 2GB Pro Duo, but was told by the phone shop people that that wasn't advisable.Something about the phone freezing up on occassion when used with a 2GB card.I didn't wanna chance it, so i went with a 1GB Pro Duo card, which works like a charm for me.I've got my phone loaded with mp3's and video (3gp) and it's a fun distraction when things get boring at work.
Downside to the phone would be;
1)No zoom function when viewing pics taken
2)You can't use mp3's for sms alert tone (annoying!)
3)Keypad is a lil too embedded for me while sms'ing,but works ok with T9 on.
4)Even tho the camera looks cool,the pic and video quality is so-so.Pics taken at nite(even with flash on) with nite-mode still look dark.
5)Like amir said below, doesnt play .rm or .avi files, just 3gp.You can convert most files to 3gp, i do it on my computer.file size is quite small.
6)battery life lasts for just about 2 days if you play lotsa videos/mp3's.Playing mp3's on the phone's speaker drains faster than playing with the headphones.I don't like the headphones,sound quality/loudness isnt great.
Overall though,all minor stuff.Love the phone,and being an SE,you can get quite a lot of Java apps (games,etc) for it.Themes are widely downloadable as well.

just bought this z800.everything's cool except for the image viewer which i cant zoom in the pictures, and also any video format of .avi and .rm cant be read. the sound system is so good which is unbeatable by any other brand.But every games that i downloaded can not be saved in the memoey stick.too bad..The sms tone also cant be set to play the mp3 format.well..can you guys email me if you guys think that there is a conflict of opinion here...thank you. my email is amirmachos@yahoo.com

hi guys and hals, can someone tell me , does this phone have big charecters for better viewing, i cant see very samll charectes , please some one tell me so i can make up my mind.

IS the beest phone. Is not soo breakable.i have a samsung d500 and i change for z800i.it was worth to be changed.easy to conect to pc .evryting is cool.i like this phone.

I like the phone. It's practical and functional...much like my old Smartphone (whihc was the best phone i ever owned) but one thing bugs me... can't one zoom in the saved pictures? If it is possible then i have not found out how.

Actually, you can download MP3'
s to memorie card while it's in the phone. Just use the mini-USB. Copy and paste in memorie card. That's how I do it with my z800.
Check under "My Comp" and open "removable storage/drive" you can create folders and playlist as well.

z800 has the best features available for any phone in Canada right now. The only problem is that all downloaded games can only be downloaded into the phone's memory and not the memory card. Transfer mp3 files from computer to directly memory card before insert into phone.

I've had a Z800 for four months and I can't fault it. Best phone I've ever owned.

hmmm the phones structure is too fragile i broke the big round thing on the top beside the camera and it sucks
not to mention that its sounds quality isn't competitive enough to fight against that of a nokia ex. is the 6630, the 6630 is louder even though it doesn't have equalizer unlike that of the z800
the keypads are also a problem sometimes since its too small for someone who has big hands
yap the phone is nice but it has too many flaws that aren't even tolerable
the body can be scratched so easily and its casings are no where to be found except in the inet! im not a sony ericsson hater nor a nokia fanatic but sony did very poor this time

well as a matter of fact the set-up of the phone is nice, i even want to make enquiry, also i like the way the phone was build, that all i could say for now.

Battery life of the SE z800 is pretty crappy, about 30hours, doesnt matter what features you use. My father has one also but he claims he gets 3 days and thats with bluetooth on all the time. Ensure you contact SE for the correct charging procedure on the phones first charge.
I just upgraded to the nokia 6280, it lasts 50 hours minimum.
When playing video files sometimes you get no picture but sound, there is no way to stop the phone playing as it 'locks up'. Once the clip finished the phones works normally, the solution if you cant wait for the clip to finish; take the battery out and restart the phone.

I have the Vodafone version of the z800 (800SE). Loving it! May be kinda bulky, but great resolution, fast, can muti-task, 2GB memorie! Streaming videos... no pauses! Listening to MP3's and watching music Videos. It's great!

The vX3 takes terrible quality photos, i think it has a cheap camera, but motorola is pretty honest in there commercials, you can see that cheap tiny phone camera like picture quality even in there advertisements,
i have the v3x and i compared it to sony ericson phones, i can tell you that these pictures i took have no chance in my photo library of picts i took with my Canon ixus 7mpx camera.
if you want good camera quality,, nokia is the best, but they make the ugliest phone sin the world hands down, only buisines people love nokia for there fame for long battery life, but by now you think they would improve there interface and rid of that ugly blackberry looking software and get close to providing people with convinience, but there you go, nokia means buiseness only.
