Locations in home where I always had a signal are now intermittent. Sony says this is news to them! Obviously something changed that impacts the wifi capability.

Liizz, 01 May 2012^ i agree! i am very interested in buying this tablet. a re... moreI'll do it as soon as it is available in my region (still not).
However, I've found out there'll be a bunch of new and welcome features. For me the most important ones (that I know are there) are:
1. Automatic folder creation
2. Direct access to external SD by all (Sony) applications (most of 3rd party ones had it already)
3. (3-D) Swipe panorama
4. Improved wifi signal strength
I do not need anything more (even though there might be some)... except perhaps improving a bit on booting time...

Bought this sony tablet and returned it next day. Bad Tablet although I love sony products. Ipad is way better.
-most android apps and games won't fit the bigger screen.
-external storage is only for transfering files.
-very difficult and costy to connect the tablet to the tv.
The only pro is the price relative to competitors such as samsung and apple :)

Pros.
-screen is far better than competitors. it is comparable to the newly launched ipad 3.
-battery life is good, it will last 9-10 hours for straight heavy usage and 10-15 hours for medium usage.
-sound quality is excellent both speaker and headphone. Sony makes the best in audio for Tablet S by putting Equalizer, dynamic normalizer, xloud and clear phase whick makes sound better than competitors
-built and design is good compare to same looking tablet in the market. The design is stunning and make difference to the tablet market and you can easily recognize that the tablet is SONY brand because of design
-key board is better than stock keyboard and free keyboard in play shop. but hoping to for update to do like ipad that you can separate keys on both side for easy typing in portrait and landscape mode.
-gps navigation is good and accurate
-rear camera is good in rich light and average in low light. but i hope they will update the interface because it really hard to take picture for yourself using rear camera. i hope they will put touch to capture.
-hd video quality is good in day light and below average in low light. But the quality is good and clear if you throw it to TV via DNLA.
- user experience is excellent it looks like your using non android tablet because SONY add better and awesome tweak for user experience.
-original Sony music application interface is excellent by adding good and awesome graphics.
Cons
-wifi network is very weak, it disconnect itself if most of the time. hoping this problem will fixed for ICS update.
-front camera is below average because its vga and very poor performance in low light.
-very few application in Play Store is not supported and very few compatible games by gameloft. (thanks to PS Suite for the back up games content)
im happy with my tablet and this device is recommendable for those who want non-apple tablet.

I also appreciate if you could let us know your experience when updating OS of your unit to Ice Cream Sandwich (according to Sony ICS will be available for Tablet S & P end of this month (April). I have plan to buy this once ICS is available. I'm tired using my iPad.

Bought it in October 2011, so I gave it a loooong try. It's a great tablet.
What's HOT:
Great screen (rich and full like a photo) with excellent viewing angles.
Accurate ambient light sensor.
Performance (speed, browsing, swiping)
Very good main camera giving rich photos (no flash though)
Beautiful user interface - Sony-improved Honeycomb 3.2.1
Great sound
Good connectivity (DLNA works fine and so does GPS reception)
Skype, Facebook, Tweeter... you name it - they all work fine!
Plenty of nice pre-installed Apps by Sony + Zino, Pulse, Kindle, Foursquare, Maps, (Google) navigation
Remote control for all electronic devices
Playstation (1) compatible with 2 free preloaded games
Comfortable and good looking wedge-shaped design, excellent for reading.
Size just right. Battery just appropriate (could be better)
What's NOT
Wifi antenna reception weaker than on any other device I have (frequent drop-outs). To make it worse, this weak antenna is hiden in the area where you'd hold the tablet in most cases!
SD card supported by single Sony application (file transfer) - although many 3rd party applications use it to a full extent (except for installing the app itself - which is not an issue at present, since all the apps you'd ever need can fit even in internal memory, storing data on the SD)
USB is not presently used to expand capacity. It simplifies connection with a PC, but PC is NOT capable of reading ALL of the tablet's content...
The materials used do look a bit cheapish (especially the back side), still far better than Samsung (but not as nice as IPad).
I too read that the screen is prone to scratching, but mine (after more than 6 months) doesn't have any hint of scratches. I'm not using a screen protector. However, I do carry it outside in a Sony's leather carrying case.
All in all, I would still recommend it to a friend!
Hope this helps to those of you still thinking of buying it.
