Sony will unveil a "unique vision of the future" on January 6

Sony’s CES 2020 presentation will start at 17:00 PST on January 6 (next Monday). The company promises a “unique vision of the future, bringing creativity and technology together like never before, to unleash new sensations and emotions.”

As always, Sony is light on specifics of what the show will be about. There’s a very good chance that the PlayStation 5 will feature prominently – the next generation console is expected to launch for the holiday season this year.

At last year’s CES Sony revealed that it has sold 91.6 million PS4 consoles worldwide. It also showed off its first 8K TVs and promised AirPlay 2 support. The company also focused on Bluetooth accessories like the new Extra Bass speakers and Alexa support for its WH-1000 headphones, but there weren’t any phones.

Recently, there has much talk in the rumor mill of a “Sony Xperia 3” - the new flagship with Snapdragon 865 and (maybe) a six-camera setup. There’s also the Snapdragon 765-powered mid-ranger. Still, chances are that we’ll see these phones unveiled at the MWC or even IFA – CES is not a popular venue for phones.
