Sony basically makes the same phone over and over again, plus now ditching the superior 4K screen. And their software update policy is terribad. Buying this phone now would be idiotic.

Anonymous, 4 hours agoI tried to switch from my Xperia 5 II to an S24 Ultra. Here... moreOf course it's the anonymous account staffing absolute nonsense. My Xperia 1 V's speakers couldn't match the S23 Ultra, nevermind the S24 Ultra. Whereas when it comes to battery life, it was absolutely abysmal on the 1 V, along with the software on Sony phones, it's barebones to the point where there is no weather app, there is no proper point and shoot camera, that's not the quality of a budget phone in night mode.

Oh, come on... ONLY 5000 mAh Battery ??? In the Market quite a few phones, which are NOT even flagships, sport 6000 mAh and even 7000 mAh Batteries!!! SONY, you should seriously consider giving your precious Customers some more VALUE for their purchase!!!
Also, it would be SO GOOD if you equip this Phone (Your NEW Flagship) with the slightly overclocked version of the SD 8 Elite!!!

samsung boy, 17 hours agoI think if they release this phone they will shot them self... moreI tried to switch from my Xperia 5 II to an S24 Ultra. Here is the insane thing, the SOT was the exact same as my xperia (3400 mAh at the time). OS felt slower, design was impractical, cameras were worse, sound was worse. Returned within 4 days, never going for samsung again and waiting to upgrade to the 1 VII!

The only question i have about this phone what is the android upgrade policy.
I hope at least 4 os and security patches.
I am gona buy it anaway but it always feels like beeing spit in the face with 3 android upgrades for a €1400 phone.
And btw android 16 is around the corner after the phone release so basicly if its 3 again its only 2 years left that is unacceptable.

Just used 3,5mm out through occ singlecore + Nordost Heimdall 2 (from shelf) + a Tube amp on my 1V.
I'm def. not speculating 'DAC?' for now.
If VII is at least on par, it might be great hardwired too👍

Xperia offers things that people enjoy using, others simply dont.
3.5mm jack, expandable storage, true front facing speakers, youve got 4K 120 HDR on all lenses (which most other phones offers on just one or two lenses at best) and the xperia does it in tele macro as well. And speaking of tele macro, Samsung and Iphone can't come close to what xperia is offering.
There is a lot more, but if you are here saying noone cares about them you're dead wrong

Software support still sucks big time. I dont expect any improvements this time either. Thats pretty much the only reason why i dont wanna even consider an Xperia. The telephoto is also quite underwhelming on the VI. Apparently that one is getting a slight sensor upgrade (same physical specs just newer tech, apparently). Well, its basically all speculation still. Overall not really excited for this release. Just waiting to see what happens.
That leaked purple color is amazing though.

Why would someone buy sony instead of samsung and xiaomi and iphone bruh....
