Daimon, 15 May 2025Either japanese are more stupid, Or they are too lazy. Eit... moreI don't take side with either Japanese, Korean or others, neither with any brand.
Instead, I just pick a phone I like without becoming brand / country sheep.

Anonymous, 15 May 2025They learned from their mistakes. The previous Sony battery... moreWould be nice if Sony were kind enough to include silicon battery instead, especially for this kind of price.

FinskCommentorr , 15 May 2025You can replace the battery for €100That's still too expensive considering you can purchase battery yourself online for $15 then replace it yourself (only if you know how to tho).
I've done it myself on other cheaper phones.

Amur7708, 15 May 2025People don't understand why Sony so expensive than oth... moreYou are one of very few to understand it that way while others even many from its own country don't

Amur7708, 15 May 2025People don't understand why Sony so expensive than oth... moreSure, the phone might be decent quality, but there's no way that the battery didn't degrade to oblivion after all of this time. That's just common sense, no matter how good the brand is.

Amur7708, 15 May 2025People don't understand why Sony so expensive than oth... moreIt seems Sony has alien technology that does not exist on Earth

It's crazy you pay 1500€ for this crap🤣, japanese industry really fell off in all domains and are being crushed by the Chinese competition 👑

People don't understand why Sony so expensive than other, it is so easy, because Sony Xperia have the best quality in the phone industry... I have Sony Xperia phone which has been working for 12 years, I used it every day and battery is amazing, I haven't been changed even battery...

rumors that xperia is not gonna be officially available in minor EU countries, not a good sign. really hope xperia stays alive, no other phone offers what they do. If they quit the phone market I hope another company implements top and bottom bezels with front firing speakers and headphone jack

That's the reason they had the 5 series that had... moreAlso the 5 series was more compact, 6.1" so more friendlier to one hand use as you can reach top & bottom screen much easier & was mainly competing with the non Ultra Samsung compact flagships.

Instead they axxed the 5 series but retaining the price of the 1's but downgraded the display to 1080p.

Sony Xperia and Xiaomi can be likened to siblings both often post similar Geekbench scores, though still trailing behind Vivo, which currently leads in raw performance.

Key distinctions between the two brands include:

Camera hardware: Sony continues to use sensors that are two generations behind the latest tech, while Xiaomi adopts cutting-edge camera modules. However, despite this advantage, Xiaomi’s main camera still falls short compared to last year’s Vivo X100 Ultra. That said, Xiaomi excels in other photography aspects.

Battery performance: Both brands have struggled with power efficiency in the past. Recently, however, Sony has made significant progress — its devices now offer much better battery endurance and maintain a warm, stable temperature. In contrast, Xiaomi phones continue to experience fast battery drain and noticeable heat buildup.

User Interface: Xiaomi’s MIUI (and now HyperOS) is rich in features and customization, but often feels heavy and resource-intensive. Sony, on the other hand, maintains a clean, lightweight, and minimalist user interface that appeals to users who prefer a near-stock Android experience.

Camera specialization: Xiaomi holds the edge in still photography, delivering sharp and detailed photos. Sony, however, has taken the lead in video recording capabilities, offering superior dynamic range, color science, and pro-level features.

Anonymous, 15 May 2025I can't believe anyone can justify FHD+ on a $1500 pho... moreThey learned from their mistakes. The previous Sony battery struggled due to the heavy load from the 4K display on the Xperia 1 V it couldn’t last more than 5 hours. So, the Sony Xperia team made a strategic move: instead of following trends, they opted for an FHD+ screen paired with a 5000mAh battery. The result is impressive Sony devices can now last up to 15 hours, outperforming all flagship smartphones.

Interestingly, Sony seems to have taken inspiration from the Ulefone 28 Ultra, which used a similar approach. This shift opens up a new opportunity for Sony. Meanwhile, Xiaomi often seen as a competitor similar to Sony is currently facing battery drain issues. Sony appears to have found the solution.

Now the problem with Sony Xperia 1 VII is that its camera uses the LYT800 sensor which has been used on the Sony Xperia 1 V. Being 2 generations behind is really disappointing when compared to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
