Seems like a great phone, lots of features. Even stuff like sd card and headphone jack ... which others have abandoned. But very very steep price and the battery tech letting it down. You'd expect this to have the newer better battery tech, for this price definitely.

The only choice to buy Sony is because of the brand and the audio sound. But honestly this is a version like Ulefone 28 Ultra which is the same FHD+ and Slot Microsd. AnTuTu 2.000.000 Seeing that both offers each have certain spec advantages, the most visible difference is that Sony is still too stingy because Sony's price is 50% more expensive than that offered by Ulefone. (I typed using bad google translate) Hahaha
Sony Xperia 1 VII
12/256 + 2TB (rare?) €1500
Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra Thermal
16/1TB + 1TB only $1000

For 1300 Euros it should have 20 cores, 40 GB RAM and 10000 mAh battery.

they just upgraded cpu and ultrawide camera...that is so lame Sony why anyone would prefer this over previous model and pay 500 more?!! still using that microscopic 1/3.5 sensor and its obvious that variable telephoto is too slow(aperture) compared to the fixed ones especially in smartphones. The existing samples show a very contrasty image and soft telephoto. idk maybe sony's target group is professional alpha owners...

Moki, 13 May 2025So they just copy pasted their old phone (literally you can... moreDon't talk about something like that. You probably heard it was just copy and pasted because they dont have the official specs for the 1 VII, instead, they took the 1 VI for showcases.

Oh by the way, it was mentioned in one of reviews that this phone gets hotter than previous model (reaches 46 ~ 48 degree) while playing some heavy game for half an hour.

This phone looks reminiscent to the old Sony Xperia Z series. sony have failed miserably to evolve their phones from 2010 till now. still same block with barely any worthwhile upgrades.

chunga lunga, 16 May 2025for 1500e i would buy s25 that is small and compact and sti... moreScamSung: Masters of Selling You Junk You Never Asked For
Take ScamSung in my country, for example. In the U.S., they launch their phones at a "reasonable" price—say, $700. But in Asia? Suddenly it costs 20% more. Why? Because they bundle it with a mountain of overpriced “bonuses” no one asked for. Want a $2 plastic case, a gimmicky wireless charger, and a pouch you’ll never use? Great—now pay $1500.
Then, as expected, three months later, the price drops to $1300, like even they realized it was a joke. And here’s the kicker: the official resale value drops so fast, it ends up lower than the price in unofficial stores. It's as if even Samsung knows their stuff isn’t worth it.
ScamSung doesn’t sell quality—they sell quantity. Quantity of flashy, overpriced accessories to hide the true value of the Samsung Galaxy. Why? Simple. They made more profit this year than last year—even though they sold fewer phones. That says it all.
It’s not about innovation or customer satisfaction anymore—it’s about milking their loyal fans dry. ScamSung has officially become the brand of greedy gimmicks and tacky overhype.
Oh, and of course, the green line is still alive and well. Long live the king of screen defects!

I'm sorry, you pay €1500 for a multimedia device, it needs to be at least QHD+. And before the fanboys mention "muh battery life", it's no better than phones like S25 Ultra and OnePlus 13 which *DO* use QHD+ panels.

You are not a Sony Xperia fanboy, you just want to destroy the product, forcing 4K on chipset Snapdragon 8 Elite s you want drain faster. 5000mAh is now equivalent 3850Mah Chipset performance heat °C

Anonymous, 15 May 2025They learned from their mistakes. The previous Sony battery... moreuhmmm you're wrong! 4k wasn't always used, it mostly defaults to 1080p to save power & less pressure on the soc. Only when playing 4k videos or streaming from yt, netflix, amazon, etc. that streams 4k will it use said resolution or high res photos, otherwise it sticks to 1080p. Battery drain usually only happens every after major os upgrade eg. 13-14-15, sometimes from regular updates & a factory reset will usually fix it.
