Hello,I just wanna ask. what is actually the difference between acro s and this acro HD I don't get it. I bought it yesterday and I don't even understand the guidebook 'coz it is in Japanese language. please help me, and also is it waterproof ip57 and dust resistant as well? will it be damaged if I immerse it in water pool?

Should have said in previous comment that the phone updated itself to 4.04 Ice cream sandwich when connected by wifi to the internet while in Japan. The phone is used on the 3 network in UK and was an NTT docomo xperia acro S0 03 hd - don't know if it was available from anyone other than NTT.

Good phone for the money. Bought mine in Tokyo before I found out that NTT will only unlock the phone for 3150 yen if you are a Japanese resident - which I was but nowadays am not. Unlocked it for 35 euros with sim-unlock.net. Took several days to get the code but worked when it arrived. After setting up the provider settings in the APN section everything was working over the mobile network, calls, internet etc.
I bought the phone because of the price and not bad specs but it does have some functions that I am sure I will never get to work but will try - like the television. If you don't speak Japanese then it is not a real problem as most of the things still in japanese after setting to your own language are not much use - best to just delete where possible and install what you need. Camera is good and you can fit up to 32gb micro sd hc. Also it takes a full size sim card which I wanted. The waterproof claim is a little bit overstated --you need to make sure all the covers for the connectors etc. are on tight but better than most older phones.

Dos, 15 Jun 2012yes, 1700 and 2100 hspa will give you TMO 4G.i am here in US, i have this, unlocked from docomo...any one knows how to get the network internet to work?? the internet work only with wifi..help!

Even if done [ You wont be able to use many of its Japan Apps ]
