I bought an L4 to try out myself and the screen keeps freezing but then it unfreezes itself.
I think a replacement screen with digitizer should fix the issue but I'm not too sure if the problem can be resolved.

... moreFirst off, the L4 has a 720p display which isn't great.
Seccond, Sony had to ditch some of their parts due to outscoring.

I have had this phone for 3 years and it would be great if it didn't freeze every 3 minutes. Won't bother with a Sony again.

Used to have the L3, very impressed with it so when I needed to upgrade I got the L4. Great phone until 5 months of use. It's constantly freezing, having to re-enter my lockscreen number or restart the phone. It's also got an annoying habit of writing random characters when textin/messaging. It's just taken me 15 minutes to write this! The sooner I can get rid of it the better I'll be. USELESS WASTE OF MONEY 😠

Probably the worst Xperia I've ever had. It constantly overheats freezing the screen. If you're looking for a phone & like to play games on said device, avoid the l4 at all costs. I'll never buy another phone from Sony ever again

Well, I'm three years late commenting on this phone, When I dropped my L3 and couldn't get another Xperia because Sony are gone from my country, I was stuck with a crappy Samsung a02, what a heap of junk. I got the L4 online few weeks ago and I'm so happy I love it, it's not slow it's fast, the screen is crystal clear, people say it slow to charge, this phone at 2% battery will charge to 100% in an hour and the battery will last the whole day with alot of browsing/ watching YouTube.
The only thing I don't like is the sound through headphones iaparts very low,apart from that, this is a beautiful phone.

Phone was bought for me , and worked fine for a few months . but then when ever it needed an update it would kill the ability to make or receive calls, to add to that the sony system xperia companion is utter garbage . Iam about to chuck this phone it SUCKs DONT BUY THIS

Don't rush with good feedback for this phone,wait few months... I bought one for me last year and phone worked perfect,after few months i bought one for my wife because i was happy with the phone,later i started to have problems, phone was freezing even on typing text but i thought that i have some virus, and now my wife has exactly the same problems, she have to restart her phone sometime to make it work again... This problems apear in around 8 months after purchase.

for first 5 months everything was good, later phone started to be slow, touchscreen stopped to work and to make it to work again i had to do lock/unlock also camera is not focusing , im very disappointed in this phone , this was my 1-st and last model of sony brand

Whatever happened to the Xperia L lineup? It seems like Sony couldn't be bothered to make a new one for 2021. But then again, maybe Sony market the Xperia Ace lineup as their entry-level model.

I have had two lower priced Xperia phones and I can't find a fault with them. The cameras are excellent, sound is great, screen clear and sharp, systems easy to use. From my experience, I can't find a better phone.

AnonD-999151, 03 Jun 2021is sony done with this series or will there be an xperia L5?L4 seems to be more and more often on a discout(with less color options), like the 10 II which would hint that they are going to discountinue these models. Sony recently released the Ace 2 in Japan, which I think is likely going to be the replacement for the L4, as it is at the same price point of 200€.
Another option is that the L5 would be closer to a 300€ pricepoint.
