This is my first smartphone.I have never done a system update before.Can someone guide me step by step to update my Sony Xperia M2(D2303) to the new kit kat update 4.4.2(18.3.C.0.37).Are there any measures I should take before updating ?

Waiting kitat for central europe 3 -.-
But the phone is still good for me with 4.3 fast, no lag

Sold my M2 with half price after 2 months, very disappointed as the phone keeps hanging without any games/ applicatons installed. The front camera is a very very big fail, u cant even see urself under low light condition. I am much happier with lenovo S960 now.

If your region is ready to receive the update you will b notified via the notification. Then it will tell you the update needs to be executed via your pc through PC Companion by Sony.
Just follow the step by step on screen instruction when you plug in your phone to the pc.
Read instructions carefully and don't rush through the process.
If you haven't received notification to update then be patient. It will come.
Or, you can go to phone's Setting, then click About Phone, then click Software Update and check System. You will find out whether the update is ready for your M2.
Oh yes, the Kitkat update is good and effective on software optimization. Make sure you follow update instruction carefully.

The phone software optimization is very stable. No freezing at all if you use it correctly as it's meant to be.

~ close up and potrait shots very good.
~ landscape photo shots average depending on lighting conditions.
~ colour balance very good and natural.
~ Superior Auto mode after Kitkat update has improved much.
~ Low lighting environment better use flash!

jomzky, 25 Aug 2014sony xperia m2 or xiaomi mi3? need ur opinion pleaseIf you dont play heavy games, then go for M2. Othertwise Mi3 has more powerful chips for the purpose.
Another thing, Mi3 runs on MIUI system; if you like the UI it is very good.
M2 is on more familiar Android style topped with Sony UI.
