Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is now up for grabs in the UK

22 May, 2015

Sony made the Xperia M4 Aqua official back in March, but only today has it finally arrived in the UK. If you're over there and are interested in this water-resistant midranger, know that you can turn to Carphone Warehouse to buy one.

The well known retailer seems to only be offering the M4 Aqua with operator contracts at the moment, so if you want to get it SIM-free and unlocked or on Pay as you go you may need to wait some more.

The same applies if you like the white or "coral" color versions of the M4 Aqua. Neither of these are in stock at the moment, but they will be out at the beginning of June.

What you're left with then is the black model, which can be yours for free if you opt for a two-year contract that costs at least £15.50 per month. That cheapest offer is at iD, Carphone Warehouse's own MVNO (mobile virtual network operator), which uses Three's network. For that amount, you receive 150 minutes, 5,000 texts, and 250MB of 4G data.

You can obviously go much higher when it comes to choosing a plan, all the way up to £42 per month in fact. That particular two-year contract will see Vodafone as your operator, and you'll get unlimited talk and text as well as 20GB of data.

The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua has a 5-inch 720p touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash, a 5 MP selfie unit, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, and a 2,400 mAh battery.

It's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 CPU, boasting a CPU with four 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 cores and an additional four that go up only to 1 GHz. The handset runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. It's IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.
