AnonD-56684, 30 Jul 2012I know that but do u sincerly think that a 1500 mah battery... moreAs u asked, it will obviously show more battery life(upto 16h or more talktime) if a 1500mAh battery is given to a feature phone than miro because its relatively 3-4 times less powerhungry than android phone.
And if u increase the screen to 4" keeping every other things same, then it will show less battery life. Because the screen size, resolution will be larger and it will need more power to lighten it up.
And 5hrs talktime in 2G is average for android phone. Ppl will not be busy on talking(calling) with miro for 3-5hrs continuously, if they want to do so then obviously go for another additional featured phone.
Actually its our luck to get 1500mAh battery on entry level phones as tipo, tipo dual, miro.

My point is önly about battery backup of miro and that better backup can be acheived even with a smaller battery.

AnonD-56684, 30 Jul 2012I didn't base my cmnts luking at the talktime provided here... moreSony did the battery backup tests in ideal condition, but they did not mean or say that it will be exactly 1460mAh. Actual battery mAh may vary and its not only in Sony, it applies to every company. Sony said that users will get atleast 1460mAh, there is chance to get 1460 to 1500mAh. Sony did not meant that it can't be more than 1460mAh.
And Sony first tests in laboratory condition and then publishes the result in white paper, samsung or other brands dsn't prepare white paper, they simply keep a basic data in official websites, so u don't get the minimum info. And that dsn't indicate that their battery can't vary. Battery backup always varies depending upon
1. the way u use it(i.e. if u r a gamer then definitely it will consume more power, etc.)
2. network strength
3. processor(the more higher the processor is, the more power it will consume to operate)
4. OS optimization
(preloaded OS version is more stable, if u upgrade it will consume more power)
5. region
6. temperature etc.
And Samsung galaxy pocket users are saying that the sound quality is also poor, bothering when video streaming.
Plz note that I am not going to say that Samsung is bad, just pointing out the disadvantages as u r comparing more potentially. And samsung always have low quality hardware. Ericssion took alliance with Sony for strong hardware.

AnonD-64192, 30 Jul 2012for your kind information xperia u, sola, s etc runs androi... moreXperia s btw has a battery of 1750 mah,u should get complete knowledge first.it's only logical if it would have a 1300 mah battery to light up massive 4.3" display on xperia s along with 720p resolution screen, the phone would die within an hour.

AnonD-64192, 30 Jul 2012for your kind information xperia u, sola, s etc runs androi... moreAnd for ur kind info i already know that they run on gb.but the thing that is really for ur kind info is that there's isn't going to be much strain on battery even if u upgrade ur device from gb to ICS.Use ur brains.can the update really affect talktime of about 2 hrs and even more standby time?i haven't heard any complaints from anybody that ics drains their battery that much significatly compared to gb infact google itself mentioned during it's unveiling that it's not going to degrade ur backup if not improve it.
And pls don't just start that cheap plastic debate that u just read from some other thread.all android manufacturers use cheap plastic except htc(in it's upper midrange n highend devices).i was in no way saying samsung have better midrange phones at respective price that u felt so offended when i talked about the not so gud battery backups of xperias which is a fact.ur argument that more feature richness causes it to have poorer backup, can u pls tell me which r those features ?
And pls can u tell me how does miro not have timescape since u consider urself to be such an expert.

Zaffy, 30 Jul 2012I agree with you but i don't know how gsmarena give talk ti... moreI didn't base my cmnts luking at the talktime provided here.the talktime/standby time mentioned in the official white paper of miro isn't impressive given the massive 1500 mah (1460 mah to be exact) battery.even those tests r done in ideal conditions and the real battery backup turns out to be even low.

Zaffy, 30 Jul 2012I agree with you but i don't know how gsmarena give talk ti... moreMiro's talktime was announced by sony's own official site, not by GSMArena......
and its true that miro will have talktime of 5hrs/6hrs on 2G/3G respectively...u just gave said that miro has smaller screen, low resolution and 0.8Ghz processor (underclocked) but u didnt noticed that its having preloaded ICS which needs more power that GB,but again these figures (talktime & stand-by) may varry depending on your network strength, way of using thet phone and region also

AnonD-56684, 30 Jul 2012Infact on an average the galaxies have been found to have a... morefor your kind information xperia u, sola, s etc runs android 2.x.x with around 1300mah battery which delivers talktime(aprox 7hours) or stand-by-time slightly more than miro, where as miro has 1500mah battery which has preloaded android 4.0.4 and delivers 6hrs (3G) talktime.
But if u upgrade other xperia phones which are mentioned above to android. their talktime or stand-by-time will decrease......
lastely as u compared samsung galxies talktime to sony's than u should know that samsung can't compete sony's quality (mainly on hardware)so its obvious that samsung will give slightly more battery backup than sony, but not the quality..!!!
samsung uses very cheap plastic material for their phones, u should notice that!

My guess is miro will have better battery backup than what is mentioned here. reasons being the same(bigger battery, low res screen, efficient and underclocked processor)

AnonD-62906, 30 Jul 2012Miro has "Timescape with twitter integreted" like... moreInfact on an average the galaxies have been found to have a better battery backup than xperias.if u luk at miro a 1500 mah battery appears abnormally large for a 3.5",hvga res. phone and a modest 800 mhz cpu to run.one would think that it will have a tremendous battery backup but it's not the case.if u luk at the talktime n standby time of miro,it's not impressive at all.while a galaxy ace plus has bigger screen, better processor n even a smallish 1300 mah battery even then it's talktime n standby time is better than miro's.even xperia u,sola,p have lower mah batteries than miro(around 1320 mah) despite being more powerful n powerhungry than miro but still they deliver about the same battery backup as miro if not more.this shows that mere mah's can't guarantee u a better battery life.the more important thing is the software optimisation, connectivity chips(for talktime),display technology n web optimisation(for vid playback n web browsing time).though i agree that sony delivers an overall better package in it's midrange phones than samsung.
Another thing was that u n some other guy mentioned that miro doesn't have timescape UI.Why won't it have?"Timescape" is sony's propietry custom skin(UI) which it puts over all it's android device just like "sense" for htc n "touchwiz" for samsung.

AnonD-62906, 30 Jul 2012Miro has "Timescape with twitter integreted" like... morenokia hasnt adoptd google's android bt adoptd microsofts windows wich is somewhat sophisticated to use and doesnt hav enuf no. Of apps available for their os,thats y we all found nokia disgusting. But still old age people like nokia only as its proprietry os is userfriendly.
And about pricing of miro, it wil b 130-150 british pounds i.e. 11000-13100 INR.
My all the privious comments were based on the price tag 11-13K dats y miro lacks some features,bt according to u if it will cost 10K then it wil be a gr8 phone.

Nokia sucks money a lot n doesn't make android phones.
Samsung always lacks atleast one important feature in their every mobile and make u confuse what to buy. Their battery backup is also poor.
Sony is the only brand which releases mobiles with latest OS, even the entry-level phones too and they give updates to most of their mobiles. Sony's hardware is well known, they are famous for Camera and other electronic products. And Sony releases mobiles with almost all necessery features(unlike samsung) and on affordable price.
Miro should not cross 12k INR, probably upto 10k INR.

well, earlier i was in love with nokia and htc only but when i noticed sony is making phones with the same specifications and also the price range was very affordable, then gradually i started taking interest in sony. and today em loving it :) lolzz
and its true that only sony (a global reputated brand) is providing smartphones with latest hardware, software and technologies with an affordable price, while samsung and htc have very high price for the same smartphone.
miro dont have large display, HD video recording, timescape UI, bravia engine, etc but its worth for 13K (or less)

Its display is led backlit lcd, so there'll be bravia engine. 720p video recording would be great. It has timescape with twitter integration.
ST26i suggests that the price will be greater than Xperia u (ST25i), incase i suggest you to go for U and not J. Store mostly used files in phone memory and for other files you can use USB OTG in Xperia U.
