Sony Xperia SP will be available on O2 and Three UK

04 April, 2013

The latest mid-range addition to the Xperia line-up has been officially confirmed to hit O2 and Three networks in UK. Sony Xperia SP will be up for grabs from O2 by the end of this month, but there is no word on the availability of the smartphone from Three.

Sony Xperia SP sports a 4.6" TFT display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The latest Xperia smartphone is powered by 1.7 GHz Dual-core ARM Krait processor along with 1 GB of RAM. The device also features an 8 megapixel rear camera, VGA front camera, 8 GB in-built memory and latest connectivity options.

The mid-range offering from Sony runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 2,370mAh battery. Unfortunately, there is no word on the contract pricing just yet, but the SIM-free version of the Xperia SP is said to carry a price tag of just over £300. However, we expect the carriers to offer it for free if you are willing to sign a long-term contract.

I let the number of comments on this article speak for itself about how popular SP is, or will be. Really, at this price point people tend to either save more, or cash out some additional to get a flagship.
