dev09, 16 Aug 2012Hey frnds its not a budget phone in india price is 13990, i... moreGalaxy ace duos isn't a great alternative.it has old n outdated arm v6 processor.while tipo is based on the latest arm v7 instruction set.
To make it simple arm v6 is like using a pentium 4 processor in the world of intel core i3/i5/i7.
The price listed at mysmartprice isn't official as so far no online store is offering it.it's not even officially announced in india.it's just an estimation.

Just enable call divert when not reachable or no reply if you don't want to miss any call from either sim. If you haven't realized it yet, dual sim phones are targeted at budget-oriented consumers--consumers that probably can't afford complete postpaid plans.

AnonD-56684, 14 Aug 2012if one sim is 3g capable that doesn't mean it has to be on ... more""" In support of the implementation of two cards from Sony, there are two serious drawbacks. The first and most critical - is that the device supports GSM, and UMTS, but each SIM-card can only work with one technology. This is extremely annoying. Since both cards can not run simultaneously in GSM-networks, in areas without 3G coverage, the second card becomes useless. I totally understand how it is possible to do so, and not otherwise. But let's consider the following scenario. The user is in an area where there is no good UMTS-signal. He has to constantly check the quality of the signal or can not receive calls on that SIM-card. Or he will have to manually change the map type for GSM and refuse to UMTS. Automatically do not. In this second card would not be workable, it shuts down. Such restrictions are not known in other low-cost phones with two SIM-cards. They either do not use 3G, or have two radio module.

At the beginning I said that for the normal operation of the two SIM-cards to a doubling of the components, let's see, what saved the Sony and the like. The reason is simple - it is the desire to reduce costs and expand the phone's range.

Amplifier must be submitted for each card in order to allow them to work simultaneously with the networks. Basically, it refers to the network part as a whole, everywhere should ideally be a doubling of the components. At the same time, the two cards can be applied the same logic to work with the network, there is no need of doubling. To provide access to both GSM, and UMTS-networks require a doubling of the components. Therefore, most manufacturers do not create dvuhsimochnye solutions, working in GSM / UMTS-networks, it is expensive. At Sony, however, decided to use the same stuffing that odnosimochnom ST21i, and easy to use software that separates a radio (GSM separated from UMTS). We can quite happily call this device a false dvuhsimochnym solution, as in a single unit in a single radio module is separated from the GSM standard, UMTS. """"

U r getting it wrong.u'll not be forced to have one sim at 3g and other at 2g.u can have both sims at 2g(gsm+gsm) if u want.

I don't want a 3g+3g mobile....... I would be happy with a 3g+2g set condition it can have 2g in both sims simultaneously........Its a total failure coz if 1 sim's 3g network is bad ,.........it will turn off or only that sim be 2g active and other one off.......both can't simultaneously be in 2g GSM like Y Duos or Ace duos or other dual sim phones

F_Carlos, 13 Aug 2012Do u think it is going to work?Did you mean 'call divert when not reachable'? It will work if the network provider supports it and your handset has that feature. Sony has that feature. Some prepaid services has no call divert option, like Sun Cellular prepaid sims in the Philippines.

Abhi, 13 Aug 2012All my dreams bout an ICS Dual SIM phone are now shattered.... moreMan what do u want ? 3g+3g dual sim phone ?good luck ! it's not available in the market.every 3g enabled dual sim is like that only UMTS(3G)+GSM(2G).higher end dual sim phones like htc desire v n galaxy ace duos r also UMTS+GSM meaning u can't have 3g on both sims at the same time.obviously u can have both sims at 2g only at the same time if u don't want to use 3g at all.y r u specifically pointing out only this handset when every other dual sim has the same (3g+2g) ?
The only possible flaw is that it's not an active dual standby phone but even that is not a big drawback as it only comes in handy when u have two calls simultaneously on ur two diffrent numbers. And even that has a solution - call divert.

All my dreams bout an ICS Dual SIM phone are now shattered.............

Why did Sony have to make UMTS+GSM phone ? Just to save a few bucks it didn't give dual radio which implies only one sim will be 2g and the other 3g
2 Sims can never work simultaneously in 2g ...........Even the video in youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U20lfGivS38 was right all this time.......it is indeed DUAL STANDBY but one in UMTS(3G) and the other is 2g clearly visible from the video as well as from review by MOBILE - Review
