Unlike G lens, a trademarked plastic lenses, what a joke. Thats the only thing soby does in the last 7 years, never innovate only bring cheap thing and give it fancy name so as to sounds like good tech.

No tech improved ha? That why you need to move to other vendor, you only get soc update, you even dont get a small thing like face unlock.

          -G lens that turns out only plastic camera lens. Now they dont use it anymore.
          -Alkeleido, only regular aluminium
          -Loop surface, omni balance, superior auto, ambient flow, etc. Yes, that naming sounds cool, but its useless. People is now smarter.

          The only good tech they bring is only super slow mo, but no idea how to make it easier or usable.

Sony doesnt have so much coverage because of their poor marketing and they dont send their phone for dxomark for some bulls**t benchmark result. Also they dont pay or send free units for youtuber to review them. Btw alot of ppl buying a certain brand of things is becuz the status quo they give them.

            At the meantime i am not in need of changing any phone soon so i will observe what serve me the best. Sony wont exit smartphone business yet because they are main supply for camera sensor in your beloved phone. Everyone is saying sony smartphone is going down but i dont see it happen soon because the other department is making good money. Just look at LG, their smartphone is losing money but they never close down because other department is making money.

            LG is following the full screen trend which also didnt improve their sales because they dont do much marketing. That is the reason why apple can sell so much money although their build price is low. Because their marketing is every where. Like 5 out of 10 youtube video i open starts with iphone promo video.

            Chinese phone is winning the race because their phone is cheap. If sony offer the same price as chinese phone for their flagship, probably sony will sell many more units.

            Btw japanese phone wont make good market in china because of the past history between 2 countries. WW2 and wont sell as good in USA bcuz of alot of restriction from USA such as finger print sensor placement etc. Mean while in india everyone is aiming cheap. Cheap probably their top concern so sony wont be doing well there. If you cant get good market in these 3 countries, probably your sale wont be good

                  Remember phone only can make calls ? Now you can have wifi, bluetooth, fm radio, ir blaster, mp3 player mp4 player, video recording, photo taking, e wallet and so on. that is called innovation. you combine 2 machine functions into 1 machine having without sacrificing any of the functions.

                  Phone that can shoot out hologram is what i would call innovating. Making the phone more appealing to the eyes are not innovating. You can call it artistic or style or whatever but it is not innovating.

                  Sony only upgrade soc ? i dont see anyone is adding ram to their camera to capture 960 fps in 2017. 2018 clearly samsung and the rest is copying that. Plus, huawei and xiaomi 960fps is not even the same implementation as sony. And that is just only 1 of the feature on sony.

                  10x optical zoom ? U know samsung back in 2014 already introduce samsung galaxy k zoom with 10x optical zoom? But the phone is rather thick because of the lenses and the quality is not on par with any real dslr with different zoom lenses.

                  Foldable phone ? That idea is still new plus if they make all sides glass it will shatter or crack when fall. If plastic then prone to scratches. Water resistant on those phones is questionable and probably no casing and tempered glass can fit the phone too. Still too many to implement on that. Lets see how MWC 2019 goes

All vendors are innovating except sony, sony only do soc upgrade. Design is the most important thing. All try to interpretate future, and deliver it. Like other big player, some chinese known preparing foldable phone. Second is camera, some of them preparing 10x optical zoom.

                    Like or not people love something futuristic, all people believe full screen is future. All vendors have deliver their allscreen phone.

                    And sony still have nothing to respond this situation, but standard is still raising up, its foldable phone. Its something more complicated. I doubt sony can cacth.

                    I hope there are still plenty people who loves bezel and choose experia, but i highly doubt it. There are still many low end phone with bezel, why choose phone with the same design like low end phone.

I meant compare s10 to the s9 what something that is in s10 that u must buy rather than s9 ? More storage ? more ram ? those are not innovation. You are just adding more capacity on the already have feature in a phone. Dont get me wrong, I no longer using samsung phone but I still use samsung other products like micro sd and ssd.

                      every year they just come out with the same phone with a newer chipset and more capacity thats it. this year is foldable phone but i dont even think it is useful at this point and it will be very expensive.

                      sony is trying other paths like 3d creator and so on which u can 3d print things that you scan with your phone which currently the only phone company that does this. sure it might be useless for you if you dont have a 3d printer but it would be useful for other ppl.

                      even samsung other home appliances like tv, fridge, washing machine is the same function at all with other brand. I used to buy samsung phone thinking of their reliability and boy i was wrong. I have samsung fridge and washing machine btw, but i am not going back for their phone.

                          Mate the majority of smartphone inovation came from Samsung, this isn't a matter of opinion Samsung is litterely copied by Sony and other phone manufacturers.

                          Majority of features and software inovation on Android were made by Samsung before Android adopted it.

                          Samsung is the most inovative phone company, they have litteral hundreds of phone inovations still used today while Sony doesn't even have 5

                          And in general Samsung is the leader in screen/dusplay technology, shipbuilding, manufacturing, home apliances.

                          Sony is behind Samsung in every way and hasn't made anything inovative in years

I had used the XZ and XZ1 in the past and they've bee... moretheir camera isnt as capable of taking photos compare to other flagships because they dont have OIS. They shine in taking video because of their 5 axis stabilization. But if you want to get usable photos you need to use their manual mode.

                            Btw sony camera is always close to real color, what you see is what you get in the photos. if you like vivid photos probably u can go for huawei those. Noise reduction for sony is always not that great which is why you will see alot of pixels at night.

                            Google pixel 1 which has no OIS is also taking good photos but pixel 2 and 3 has OIS and taking even better picture plus it has night shot. You can get the pixel software by rooting your phone but for OIS, you have to use a gimbal if you want

                              1tb of storage ? useless ppl just going to use like 30gb the most
                              12gb of ram ? useless ppl just gonna need 4gb for apps
                              full display ? useless ppl need bezels
                              qhd ? useless ppl just need full hd
                              3.5mm jack ? useless ppl just gonna use wireless
                              wireless charging ? useless ppl just gonna use wired anyway. wastage of energy btw
                              bixby ? useless alreay got google assistant and i despise google assistant too

                              do you see it ? i dont need those things i just mentioned just now but that doesnt meant it is useless to other ppl. your argument is just trying to say everything sony made is useless.

                              and btw samsung does not innovate if you think adding more ram, cameras and storage and full display is consider innovation, but in fact it is not.

                              innovation is something that has not been in the smart phone. i owned galaxy s2 and note 4 although both still working but both also overheat as hell after 2 years. Have to flash my s2 to keep it from overheating and drain my battery in an hour and my galaxy note 4 i have to keep swap my batteries because it is draining so fast. Galaxy note 4 is probably the last good samsung phone and if samsung phone is going to overheat every 2 years then it is certainly not my phone. When MWC 2019 launched new devices, i will move to another sony phone because having sony XZP for 1 1/2 years has never given me any trouble. I like the light UI with almost near stock android and fast update.

                              Samsung S9 is getting android pie now ? Cant even beat a phone that already is 1 1/2 year to get their pie first. Been using pie since december 2018. U wanna say fast android update is useless too right ?

                              Been using xiaomi and lg phone, lg v10 die after a year and i hate xiaomi UI

Sony makes camera sensors for other brands but they can't get it right on their own brand.

                                  Yes. But with worst useless implementation. No one can use it properly because it often missed to record the "right moment". Samsung implementation is much much better.

                                  2. Dynamic vibrating system.
                                  This is the most useless feature that adds unecessary thickness to the phone.

                                  3. 4k display.
                                  Another useless feature. Why would anyone watch 4k on tiny screen? Buy tv / pc monitor if u want 4k.

                                  4. hdr recording, AUBE, etc etc.
                                  Just fancy names without real usable implementation.
                                  Even with those technologies xperia's camera is still worse compared to its competitors.

                                  5. qnovo charging.
                                  All flagships from reputable brands have some kinds of "battery safety" softwares. Qnovo is just a battery protection software to ensure your battery will never overheat. Qnovo is not special tech.

                                  4. 3d creator.
                                  Another useless thing that no one asked for.

                                  5. They include a metal plate at the middle to prevent bending.
                                  Nope. The metal plate is there to add unecessary weight. To make impression that it is sturdy, but in reality it has similar sturdiness compared to the competitors.

                                    SD835 to SD845 wont even notice much different in speed because they both are fast enough and now 12GB ram ? srsly ? Some gaming laptop has only 8gb on them and can run high demand game without issue. This shows that how much unoptimize android is when you need 12gb of ram.

                                    Yes Sony is lacking behind in internal storage but they let you have micro sd slot. Most of the china flagships no longer offer micro sd slot which is important because when you changing from 1 phone to another, your internal storage would not follow you but just unmount and mount the micro sd card to the new phone and voila you got all your data there.

                                    Sony is the first to have 960 fps hd/full hd, dynamic vibrating system, 4k display, 4k hdr recording, AUBE, qnovo charging, 3d creator and so on. Their phone is sturdy because just look at the weight, they include a metal plate at the middle to prevent bending.

                                    People that keep demanding full screen display is killing sony because they care appearance more than function. No more front facing stereo speaker no more proximity sensors no more led notification and no more bezel to hold on to.
