Gino76, 17 Feb 2017If i mostly use the phone taking photos will it overheat? I... moreI took 3-5 shots in one go, so far no problems. I use auto mode with adjusted white balance and no flash, so far no problems. It overheats after 10 shots I believe but I hardly use it more than 5 shots at one go. I don't even have problems with panorama or 360°. I've used long exposure on Camera FV-5 with no problems. I do not know how many is your "mostly use". I took videos but mostly less than 5 minutes clips which I will cut or edit using video apps. I'm not a vlogger so I don't record hours of videos. I'd bring a camera for travelling because I prefer to save my Z3+ for communication and I may need to use optical zoom. I'll use my phone as camera if it's raining or for selfie to inform my family about my whereabouts. The camera button on Xperias are also useful for underwater photography. I'd use waterproof case to protect my phone and data. Ever since marshmallow, the issue of camera shutting down due to overheating have reduced. I placed my phone at the AC vents so my phone has never overheated when using GPS. It's easier to look at, too.

How many poles does Sony Xperia Z3+ have?
Because I'd Like to buy "Digital Noise Cancelling Headset MDR-NC31EM" and this headset won't work if the device does not have a 5-pole audio connector.

Gino76, 15 Feb 2017I can't help but be weary of issues that I have mentioned p... more1. Audiophiles had stopped looking at Sony after Z3. I listen to talks and interviews, Sony is the best for me, the rest sounds hissing for me. I need clear vocal, not ssssss sound.
              2. I hardly take videos but yes, thanks to Snapdragon 810, it overheats quite fast.
              3. You can adjust the white balance. I adjusted mine to look warmer and lesser blue.
              4. I don't own a Z3 but yes, battery drains quite fast. My phone is always plugged on to USB in the office since I listen to radio with speaker on.

I dunno what the reviews said but I'm happy with my phone. It's a productivity tool for me and I don't play games.

Speakers sounding tinny & more muffled than the Z3, 2. Overheating when taking 4K videos or non-stop intense gaming, 3. screen looking much warmer than the Z3, 4. Battery life seem poorer than the Z3 (as it has less mAh). Apart from the screen being warmer most of these issues concerns me. Can someone at least agree with the reviews? Or are they all false?

Gino76, 12 Feb 2017I had bad experiences with Android phones in the past 18 mo... moreI own both Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3+ (Z3+ is aka Z4). Both very good phones, grossly under-rated compared with Apple iPhone 7+ and Samsung Galaxy 7+ costing around three times more than Z3+ that in many aspects is of higher specification, e.g. camera, battery, ISP, etc.
The Z3+ is a significant improvement on Z3, a simple comparison indicates over 50% increase in data speed processing, e.g. downloading.
32GB internal storage of Z3+ is more than adequate. (16GB of Z3 was borderline), dual SIM of Z3+ is handy for overseas travel because cheaper to buy overseas SIM than to incur $5/day roaming charges.
Stereo speakers are superb (remember, the mobile phone is not a Hi-Fi audio system).
Overheats only during high data processing, but such tasks happen rarely and is not a problem.
64-bit, 8-core Qualcom Snapdragon 810 chipset is fabulous.
You can compare specs of smartphones on GSM Arena, also prices of replacement digitiser LCD screens.
I love the Xperia Z3+ costing $360, as I do my slightly older Z3 that I keep as a spare. Hope this helps you.

Anybody update 7.0 update for z3+?

I had bad experiences with Android phones in the past 18 months as mine got water damaged hence I'm looking for something that can withstand more than a drop in the sink/bath or light rain Like the Xperias. But I want to know any significant upgrades of the Z3+ to the normal Z3? Is it true that the Z3+ performance is slower, heats up slightly and has a muffled speakers than the Z3? True? Comments please.
