U'ra bad luck. But don't say always troubly because there are many people using this maker products and just put it into a old stuff box because are changing it for upgrade. I swear you Sony products are as much tough(if not tougher) as other produts makers u can rely.

I have had my Xperia Z for just more than 2 years now and periodically wash it under running tap water. I've also taken pictures in chlorinated water and its still fully operational.

Also the whitepaper notices about waterproofing that they dont care to read....
But all over the net you can see xperia users underwater photos, concluding water leak is not a statistically meritable problem...
Though I can understand those very few people that destroyed their phones that way to be...hate oriented towards Sony, I would be too
Furthermore Define "many" by a statistical number please...
Does under 1% of users equal designation "many"?
Or are we somewhat pretentious on that merit?
Anyways, genuine waterproof usb charging slot on new gen xperias solves those issues I believe quite succesfully...

The big issue is waterproof wont last more than 1,5 year.
Many users complained their Z n Z1s death
in water. Whats funny is many of them considered to give it water test to check its waterproof.
Ofcourse the plastic flap is to blame. User often open it, its about the time .. flap will be loose.
So i think waterproof feature Sony proud of is unnecessary.

It still works perfectly after 5 months, and as for using it in the pool i do that all the time...so for me u might as well shut up If you don't have first hand experience with this phones, and i dont give a s### about the link you shared.

Cracking?
Have some statistics compared to other manufacturers so we can look at and discuss?
Go into any varranty repair and ask about screen glass cracking statistics...you ll get a list of all manufacturers with numbers...then come back and share the list.
Peeling off corners?
Most top selling phones from other manufacturers are peeling all over...especialy samsung phones
Overheating?
All flagships are overheating, s6 on test overheated to 100 degrees while m9 overheated to 105 degrees.....
Z3 overheats less than samsung galaxy s6 and even s5,
Z4 is not even tested, so I insist on some backup facts for that claim of yours
Have sth better than some articles to link?
I can link tons of articles about s6, m9, chinese flagships problems too....

You have another refference waterproof phone statistics, or official numbers for complaints or varranty refusals to back up your claim?
I do agree Sony should put a bumpersticker on commercials for waterproofing, as some people are dumm enough to take the ip rating as granted...
Oh and it can go into salinated and chlorinated water, just is not reccomandable ;-)

The small print... morefor someone who doesnt know science,fresh water washes away but salt water deposits salt on the phone.and the fine print also says wash ur phone in fresh water if u used it in salt water...u lazy basher..
oh yeah-u see,sony phones do not use paints.metal and glass only.the paint will fade onlyy if there is paint in it,isnt it???

The small print clearly says that the phones SHOULD NOT be used in many swimming pools or the sea/beach.
These phones ARE failing when used in chlorinated and salt water.
Sony IS NOT replacing all of the phones which are damaged due to water.

Waterproofing means only for fresh water. Sony will NOT guarantee in salt water or chlorine water. Hundreds of complaints online about this.
Paint peeling off the corners again as in all Xperia models
Overheating again.

He said he was not permitted to disclose any feature n specification ..
But i wished he could at least given us the name or a hit for us to wait ...
As all the customer r now directed to lg g4 samsung n htc as all have released therir best phones
