I had the Sony Ericsson phone in the early 2ks that had all the bells and whistles...I took it from the states to the UK all the time. It sold for up to $1200 USD and I bought 2 for that same price. It even had a IR capability. One f'n amazing phone!

AnonD-331864, 26 Feb 2015According to the Sony's total revenue increased noticeably ... moreBefore Sony seperated from ericcson, the phones that were being made then were also being marketed better, Sony don't seem to be doing a good job marketing their phones even though they have the better technology, their Z2's and Z3's sold well though but are still losing money because they cost more to make, Sony have always made quality products, they are also the main supplier for the professional market not just consumer market, many films are shot using Sony cameras, many people think back in the day of the video recorder that Sony's betamax failed, it only failed in the consumer market, betamax tech was still used in professional market, it was better technology.

My impression is that there are some contradictions in your comments.
If you had your own W995 yet and did not change it, you might be a bigger fan of Sony than us. As my last non-smart phone was Nokia and I always support them. However I am not such a crazy fan of Nokia. So I got a Sony smartphone that I think is a good alternative. If I did not change my old Nokia, it would mean Nokia is my god. Therefore from your point of view Sony would be a God not a loser.
You always change your tone of voice. Sometimes you merely advocate Sony to show your imaginary impartiality and sometimes you severely convict them. Specifically, your conviction weight is significantly greater than your advocation. This is a well-known policy called Psychological warfare.

Smartphone and T... moreI don't have a samsung, and never will. I don't have and want a smartphone at all. I have my W995 since 5 years ago, and just because I'm stating my negative opinion doesn't mean I'm following another company, and ditching others. I'm not an immature tech crazy kid, like most.
I simply state what I think, based on what I've seen and read.
ps. I don't like samsung devices. I don't like any smartphone atm to be honest.
z4 looks alright though. But you can never be certain.

what about dimensions, weight, battery and price..? I think Sony Z4 and Microsoft lumia 1030 will be the best phone in 2015.

Due to this large capacity, the battery should be a non-removable one.

The problem for them is their marketshare is not growing, incoms are on a stale rate so there is no actual profit from mobile...
So they said they are considering looking for a partnership again, just like with Ericsson was...
The reports you mention are just speculations based on Sony yearly financial report and CEOs comment on it...
Xperia line will continue, but if they are not willing to finance or change to better marketing, maybe a partner firm will...
Their presentational homescreens for ex, are quite ridiculous...same for entry level and flagships, and most boresome at that...
Apple puts a flower picture, sells like hotcakes, samsung puts some flashycolor mashup and sells...
Little changes like that do a wonder in buyers eyes....
Best phones with lamest marketing they have....

I understand that you are a fanboy, it's obvious. At least know what is going on with your lovely Sony, because there are many reports that Z4 will be their last smartphone.
They lose money because of smartphones and tvs, so it would be profitable for them to stop on these aspects, just like they stopped with pc business.
Get your facts straight, the only strong cards that Sony has to play are playstation, cameras (although cameras are failing because of smartphones) and camera sensors.
