Has a better front cam,and a bit better pixel "rate".
The only difference is in the camera button :)

ZL have Infrared sensor. You can use your phone as remote controller to operate your TV and other electronic equipments. Z don't have IR sensor.
ZL have slightly higher capacity battery.
Z have both side glass body but ZL have rubberized back which will give a good grip.
ZL is small in size but thicker than Z.
Z have USB On the go. ZL don't have [I am not much sure about this. May be it can be enabled later with software]
ZL have dedicated camera capture button but Z don't have.
Rest all I think the same

Frnds I have bought this fone xperia zl 1 week before just after two days i met an accident and my new fone xperia zl was thrown far from me with a huge force taking bumps on the road. but guys when i picked my phone nothing was happened to it not even a scratch was there on its back portion which is like rubbery.
phone worked well without any problem.
It successfully passed its drop Test.

Sony use Dragontrail glass it is too much strong from gorilla glass

Below is my review ba... moreTrue, more compact than SGS4 and I love it,Sony just underestimated the power consumptiion thus putting a mediocre and sealed battery. With ~10mm thickness, they could have put at least 3000mah battery removable and it could have stand high against the competetion. Sony, battery,battery and battery you need to improve. Look at LG's Optimus F7, it has less power demand than ZL but it's battery is bigger and removable.

i want to buy this set. but the pieces are aval in my country all are made in china. will it be a problem????? and how is the glass this is not a gorilla glass. will it get scratches?????

The manual learning feature on the remote is working fine for me. Tested on an old Panasonic TV and worked great. Ciao and wish the best of times with our awesome phone.

I pruchased ZL and my friend bough Z. Below is my review based on last one weeks usage.
ZL Advantages vs XZ
*Brighter display
*Better ear speaker and loud speaker
*Comfortable to hold due to super compact form factor though 5" screen.
*Not to fiddle with flaps for chager and head phone connections everytime.
*Textured back gives firm grip vs glass back in z which slippery.
*ZL has Comet like Notification LED at bottom which actually works vs small dot on top on Z which does not work due to some bug.
*ZL has IR Remote feature works well with inbuilt app but learning fnction is still not working.
*Dedicated camera Key in ZL is handy.
Freinds now you decide.

Anonymous, 20 Mar 2013Hi, can u gv more comment about this device since u owned i... moreviewing angles are slightly lower when viewed horizontally - but fantastic vertically. though you will never use the phone in an angle other than straight on.... so this is getting undue focus when ideally u shud be asking how is it in daylight (where s3 & note 2 suffer) - it is excellent in daylight view with sufficient brightness. contrast may be tad lower but i havent noticed any reason to say the phone suffers from it... all videos look great & the color just pops better than i have seen so far.
