Xperia Z has 75% popularity, though ZL has only 15%. I konw the reason people will buy Xpeia Z is, just because of water resistance and dust proof. Otherwise Xperia Z own same destination as ZL.

Sony,release this in SG, ZL stands high in the competition being the most compact 5incher. More compact than most 2012 flagships with smaller screens. It should be more comfortable to use with one hand.
