I bought this smartphone just a few days ago. So far I am loving the whole Sony experience. The camera is clear and takes really good pictures. The walkman appp is intuitive. I also like the messaging app and the keyboard that is installed with it.
What I do not appreciate is the poor viewing angles. If you look at the screen head on it is beautiful and is really a Full HD experience but if you tilt it sideways it loses the richness of the colors. I am also not head over heels in love with the earphones that it came with. It is an in ear earphone that falls easily. The videos captured is another step back for me. It is not that clear even tough it can take up to 1080 quality videos.
But overall, I love the design, the physical camera button, the camera, the keyboard and the price :) It is one of the cheaper 1080 quad core phones out there :)definitely worth buying :)

My wife stays connected with the net 24 hrs and chats every now and then and at the end of the day plays games for around an hour. Even after that she gets around 35% battery remaining. On the other hand, if I chat in my phone the whole day, I end up having to charge my phone in the mid day. The core reason behind this is the 5" fullHD screen. The screen eats up most of the battery power of the phone. So, if you choose battery, then you should go for Xperia SP. But if you want raw power and excellent display (and of course, confirmed upgrades), then you should go for Xperia ZL (as Xperia ZL belongs to the Z series, which are considered as the top range phones of current Sony Xperia lineup).

Battery is working fine. Just slightly draining quite much if you're continuous usage. In the same time. Phone also tense to heat up until 40 over Celsius. But watch movies this phone is just great with no heating issues. But a 1hour 40minutes 1080p movies with lowest brightness drain 25% of my battery everytime I watch a movie. So far. This is my opinion on this phone. Is a good phone. Go for it. About battery draining issues I had no choice. So I bought a powerbank to recharge.

So the xperia SP has some issues, but i am wooried about Xperia ZL's battery life time since it has a 2370 mah with a quad core , unlike the SP wtich has a dual core 1.7 and he scores well at battery test
so any infoo about Xperia ZL battery life ? and thnx guys for helping :)

Anyone made research before? I'm quite curious to know about Sony mobile bravia engine 2 on this phone better or sony triluminous x reality engine on xperia z ultra better?for big screen is confirm z ultra winning. But z ultra 323pixels density is lower than 441ppi on xperia zl. So z ultra image display is not as sharp as xperia zl due to lower pixels density?
But if compare to xperia z1. It have same pixel density as xperia zl but with triluminous display and xreality engine. So now here if compare this both phones display engines
Which engines would be better? Sharp image and better contrast?
