Vinod, 18 Oct 2013I too faced this issue, and went to the service centre for ... moreMy phone just died and i gave it to a sony service center in Bangalore and they've told its a motherboard issue and we will replace u with a new phone..But its been 15 days and i haven't got the replacement despite numerous phone calls to them..Can u tell me how the replacement works(what about in-box accesories)?

AnonD-194906, 18 Oct 2013Sony Xperia ZL has TFT Display but latest Phones like Galax... moreplease keep in mind that all screens on smartphones are TFT, TFT stands for: "Thin-film-transistor", what varies is the transistor type used on the screen, AMOLED uses polycrystalline silicon and amorphous silicon, both with an organic compound, also they tend to be compared to plasma screens given the color management (colors are more vibrant on organic screens), but as with plasma screens the issues with organic screens is that they have high degradation rates and low pixel density;
the other screen is an active matrix completely synthetic, no organic stuff on it, this gives them a higher work-life than organic screens.
for image quality is the pixel density and contrast ratio what really counts, both of them, think of it as the megapixel and light sensitivity on a camera; OLED screens have a very nice contrast ratio but not a high pixel density, TFT screens are like the LCD screens on many TV sets, so they can have high contrast ratio, but at the expense of battery use, OLED screens are more battery friendly (at least the newer ones), in this particular case, the xperia ZL has a contrast ratio very close to that of the galaxy S3, and the galaxy note2, but the pixel density of the Xperia ZL is higher than those two, making a very nice phone to look at; another thing to keep in mind when comparing screens is the refresh rate and the reaction time the screen has, and tft has faster reaction time than organic screens, in the end both type of screens are good, if you check, sony has been working on organic screens more than 10 years just recently they put one on their PSP-vita but chances are they will keep using synthetic TFT for quite a while.
so screen wise is more about taste, you will have to hold both devices face to face to chose your own, i've done that and i stay with my ZL, this phone's screen is simply amazing, for some reason i tend to feel samsung screens are too blue, i really dunno why.
on your other question, no, microphone issues is a rare issue, getting a ZL with a microphone issue is like getting a micro-SD card that will last you just a week, both things happen, but are rare.
my phone has no mic issue, no speaker issue, it is fully functional, i haven't noticed the battery issue either so it just may be luck for me

Tis phone is an ideal one, I mean its exactly like Z just the waterproofing thing isn't here but it's compact,easy to hold,comfortable and I love it.
No lagging from last 2 weeks apps run like butter

Seems the handset is not sturdy...
