A true bang for the buck
Spice M-6700 review:
I bought this phone for my little brother who is in class 11th on July 17th , 2012 from snapdeal. As per my knowlegde the phone has been discontinued. I bought it for Rs 2900 and the main reason for the buy was the screen.
Drawbacks:
For touchscreen phones you need at least 3.2 inches unless you have really tiny fingers. I was expecting a good typing experience but was dissapointed to find that it doesn't support potrait mode. The entry of text will be the same as you do in a Rs 1000 mobile except that here its done on the touchscreen.
Edge is too slow and due to resistive touchscreen browsing is a tad difficult, in fact impossible. This phone is NOT meant for internet. In fact for internet slice about Rs 2000 more and get a better mobile.
No experiences with wifi but don't expect too much here.
A few shortcuts can be dragged on the homescreen from a slider panel hidden on the homescreen itself. I was initially wondering how to use the multiple shortcuts that the slider panel encompassed and later found that they can only be used when dragged on the screen. To understand what I am talking about tale the analogy of drop-down menu. The slider panel works in the same way.
The OS not at all optimised. Even the extra themes do not work properly, so you have to stick with the default one.
Video player and camera are picked from a dust-bin, IMO. The video player plays mp4 videos but the video is pixelated no matter how well converted the video is. My xperia neo v plays them so well.
There is a lot of bloatware installed.( sadly, there is no option to delete them)
FM radio reception is average.
Swipe to recieve or reject calls is a trashy feature because the resistive touchscreen is not apt for it(I again blame it on the people who desgned the OS)
Srswow is just a hype. Infact, it decreases the sound quality than making it better. So don't enable it.
Pros:
Dual sim with microsd support.
Very good touchscreen for the price. If the Os would have been like that of Nokia, you would not have faced any problems navigating the menus and internet or the bloatwares.
Basic functions like calling, receiving are pretty good.
Sound quality output is above expectations and, especially, if you use any 300-400 range PHILIPS headphones, they will sound more than satisfactory. IMO the sound quality is much better than MICROMAX, and karbonn sets.
Bluetooth functionality is cool.
Filemanager is very capable of doing almost all essential tasks.
If for one moment you forget all the cons and just focus on the cost to functionality ratio , then this mobile phone is a solid bang for the buck(especially if you want a descent dual sim touchscreen phone for awesome music)
