Stable One UI 6 with Android 14 now rolling out to Galaxy S23 series

Samsung just managed to squeeze the One UI 6 update in October with two days to spare. The firmware carrying Android 14 and the October 1 security patch is now seeding globally to the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S23+.

The update is around 3 GB and brings a bevy of improvements and new features. There's a new design with a new default font, new icons, simpler icon labels, and a way to make the lockscreen clock bigger or reposition it.

The Quick Panel has a new button layout - the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have their own places at the top, followed by the usual quick toggles and the brightness has moved to the bottom.

One UI 6 brings the new Studio video player. You first need to open the Gallery app and enable it from there. It's a project-based video editor with powerful options but it seems capped at FHD for now.

Other novelties feature the new weather widget, a new look for Samsung Health (which arrived for users on Android 13), a smarter Airplane mode (it will keep Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on), the Battery setting menu has been bumped up next to Display, and much more.

Check your Galaxy S23 phone - Samsung will ramp up the rollout to the S23 family today, followed by a long list of devices in the coming weeks and months.
