The bluetooth support A2DP profile with 1.5 Cupcake updates. People who commented before cupcake should reconsider re-comment. Cheers

But!! If you choose to upgrade, there may be some of your fav. softwares not supported with cupcake...e.g. youtube downloader...it's no longer available in the Android Market :(

google g1 has some major problems..
1- very poor battery life (as u can see on other feedback s)
2- no bluetooth (its has one ..but only supports the headset)
              3- not very user friendly

4- dont buy it unless u accepts these terms :d .

siingh, 17 Apr 2009Hi, i wanted to know wheres the best place to gt apps for t... moreHi Siingh,

There is a market icon on the Menu tab (in the phone) download stuff from here. Its simple, quick and free. Even if your cell in unlocked its fine....I have an unlocked piece and it works perfectly.
However you will have to set-up the phone with your gmail account then it's smooth sailing. Your gmail password works as an authentication.

                  Regards,

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2009does anyone know how to sync the G1 with outlookHi,

The G1 will automatically sync your contacts and calender with your gmail account when you set it up for the first time.
If you don't have a gmail account you can create one and import the details from outlook by converting the contacts into a .CSV file.

                    Believe me it's very easy.

                    Regards,
                    Eve

Google is good to give search pages. Nokia is good to make sturdy sets. Put G1 on the mantle piece as you bought one. Its pathetic at the moment. It needs new life to compete. Phone should have phone utilities can never replace a desktop or laptop.

                              Hi,

I recently got this phone (an unlocked piece/ India)....its working fine. I need to ask two questions:

                              1. How is the battery life....the battery for my cell does not even last a day? Is there a certain setting I need to change?
                              2. I keep getting a message "update for your phone available..." can I update the application (no name for the application given) is it safe since mine is an unlocked phone? Also how do I know application name?

                              Thanks.

                              Eve

I think this is a great phone. It's very near the smoothness of the Apple iPhone, but has lot's of free fun and handy applications. The battery level is very acceptable, if you don't play games all day long it will easily last for 2 days (acceptable for such a feature rich phone). The touch screen is very responsive, and the overall interface is well adapted. With the new Android 1.5 OS you now have an on screen keyboard (even though I prefer the physical qwerty keyboard for texts and email). I would buy this phone over the iPhone anytime, since you can buy navigation software for it, and the battery lasts longer and it has a full qwerty keyboard.

Downside: You need a google account, you can't sync your agenda and contacts with anything else.. This may be a big no-no for businessess handling confidential data.

Further more I love the fact that you can charge it by a regular mini-usb cable anywhere! (Downside again is that you can't plug in normal headphones, you can buy an adapter, but personally I don't like carrying around an adapter and 2 feet of cable just to listen to music.)

Positive fact is the trackball, this proves that the touchscreen is not suitable for everything (you can't see below your finger). The trackball makes a very good control for some of the games.

BIG downside for me: You unlock the phone with a very innovative 'pattern' that you have to drag, this is safer than a 4 digit pincode, and easier to do. However, the Android Market does not require a password to buy apps on your creditcard, thus making the 'pattern' the only security. This would be fine, but the major flaw with this 'pattern' thing: You can see the fingermarks on the screen after you have drawn it! So you have to wipe the screen every time after.

And the last positive thing: TASK SWITCHING. The G1 supports a lot of background programs, which is a MAJOR plus over the iPhone, you can run MSN / Yahoo / GoogleTalk in the background, and switch to them while browsing the internet by simply holding the 'Home' button.
