marty, 23 Feb 2010It's too bad it's an HTC. I don't buy products by Chinese ... moreso this means you dont buy samsung, lg, toshiba, sharp, motorola and more, but if you mean foreign products, then your talking about almost every company out there... sounds a bit simple minded to me.

bobby b, 22 Jan 2010hi,
just about to get the g2/hero on t mob,iv had a blac... moreg2/hero does have speakerphone option and can be brought up using menu button as soon as call button is pressed.
Speak Phone on G2 is ok, does it's bit well, however, I'll not call it great. I think it lacks bass adjustments.

Ungibbed, 03 Feb 2010After a bad experience with another Android based phone off... moreI have to say this is by far the most unbiased, professional review I've read from a user on GSMArena in the months I've been visiting this site. Thanks for the info I think I may have to get this phone now.

After a bad experience with another Android based phone offered by T-Mobile, my attention turned to the new display model which was this myTouch Fender. Not only does it look remarkably different than pretty much any other phone on the market, it does have some class in both it's looks and it's software.
Needless to say, I bought one on the spot considering the value and the bonus of a real 3.5mm headphone jack added to the top right of the phone. The headset and charger have the same woodgrain look as the phone and the 16GB card included in the package is a huge bonus.
On the software side of things, there are some subtle changes to the basic myTouch interface including wallpapers, ringtones (no custom notifications though), and some great preloaded music on the memory card to boot.
While the camera still lacks a flash and doesn't shoot a very sharp image despite having an autofocus feature, it does get the job done in a pinch. Don't expect it to replace your point 'n shoot camera for sure.
The music player has changed a bit but still lacks an equalizer function which is a bit of a disappointment. Still the sound via the included earbuds was clear without distortion even at high volume. Video playback is a little choppy from music videos transferred to the phone from iTunes (forget the doubletwist software if you're a Mac user, iSquint does a much better job) if you wish to shrink your videos down a bit for space.
Overall, this may be just another myTouch from T-Mobile, but surely a conversation piece.

With so many great phones out there, it was hard to choose one that would meet all my expectations. I will be the first to agree that this is not the best, but it had just enough to persuade me to get this one. I am like others who have posted here that would have liked features like radio and a better camera. The radio feature would be great for many who have a special station they like, or for those who listen to local stations in Spanish. The fact is the more I use this phone and learn how to better use it, the more I love it. I believe that is the strength and main goal of this phone and like other posts have mentioned, you do need to learn and research how to make this phone your own.
p.s. I am sure many here know this, but for those that do not, I have learned that, unlike the other phones I’ve had, this camera works a lot better when you press and hold down the trackball until it has focused, then say CHEESE and let go. This has worked a lot better for me. Silly, but works better.
