Ok saw a lot of bad tings about this phone.. i personally own one and i can tell you this phone works good...took a few falls already and still works flawless. feature are awesome and i use my wifi all the time anywhere i go that has acess you can browse the entire internet on it.. with add-on software like skype mobile and a other few stuff will enjoy this phone... ok ok so you say the phone is totally awesome but still why the bad reviews let me list some "CONS"
CONS
1. phone battery doesnt last long(prob due to if you leave your wifi and bluetooth on)2-3 days battery is good for my liking which this phone last
2. phone is slow(make sure to close all opened apps that you have opened to free up memory)
3. keyboard is not a actual full QWERTY(but can live with)no complain from my side
4.only main problem and i can say this phone gives is the alarm(this ting will never alarm on the set time and when you stop it it dont stop it just snoozes and will alarm again)what i did was download a alarm app and tada fixed my problem

I like the Idea of WIndows Mobile + Slider
Does it have a touch screen?
About the guy who drips coffee on phones... Do you really expect any phone to survive it??

This phone is not worth even looking at. It dials by it self when sitting on the desk, yet when I try to call it does nothing. It will not sync with my computer or much of anything else. Well it does do great text messages, but that should be a second option of a PHONE. It just won't work if you want to talk.

rondal, 20 Jan 2009i have one of this phone and i cant get to watch youtube on... morehtc had a program out to fix that.It was called htc streaming media player.I think its made by microsoft.
I look at you-tube all the time no probs

This phone has sucked completely, you cant hear anything when it finally does choose to work and if you drip coffee on it, it stops working right, if you plan to go outside with this phone, buy it a special t mobil umbrella for 30$ and some insurance in case you sweat ever...or they will laugh at you and ask you if you would like another peice of trash for 70$ only!

I agree that the battery life is bad but mine came with an extended battery and a new cover. battery lasts 2 days with heavy use. Not bad for a phone I got on a free upgrade

I have a sim and network lock on my own phone, please if there is anyone who has a software that could be of help please help me out, I got the phone as a present n it does not take my network so am confused, please help me out.

1st and for most my intail reaction it was a fairly good phone for the price and technology. the makers of t mobile dissapionted me it freezes horrible battery life start up takes 10 minutes and its a very fragile phone breaks in like 3 drops DO NOT BUY

Battery life is low, I charge it from about 9pm to 7am, and I'm down to 1 bar by 9pm.. I have no problems with this phone.. besides the battery life

I hate this phone, too. I've had it 3 weeks and use it from home for work calls. It rarely picks up my home wi-fi connection, even when it's right beside the box. If a 2nd call comes in and I'm on the bluetooth headset, and i let the call flip to voicemail, it automatically kicks the bluetooth off. I've read the book, which is very unlike me, and i'm still at a loss. All I ask is that I can use the home hotspot feature consistently to make calls - that's the cheapest way - while using bluetooth handsfree. It wasn't too much to ask with my regular old hotspot enabled phone. I'm a week past my return, and I, too, spent a fortune on this phone through tmobile's retail store. It's going to be a long two years...

if u want youtube on this phone i dont know if this even still works but look up ytpocket.com at the bottom thiers a streaming app that u need to download to the phone and set the setting correctly
u will need a newer ver of the tcpmp player the all in one music video codec player for pdas and u also will need to install the .flv plugin so the player will play the youtube cause youtube files are .flv
hint*** u cant also use the tcpmp player setup settings and then go to say 98.5kluc.com or ur fav online radio site and click a mms link aka a link that ussaly opens in ur pc and makes windows media player pop up and stream the radio on ur computer the tcpmp player will do the same if correctly setup i dont member all the setting i just remember the .mms file ext has to be checked otherwise windows media player trys to open them and either cant half the time or when it down u cant turn ur volume up as loud as u can with tcpmp player
then go to yt pocket.com and when u click the link the app should start bring u out of ur webbrowser and attempt to buffer and stream ur video *note this really was semi sucky for video but worked great for plain audio due to limited speeds of a gprs network using it over wifi was fine tho and the site had options to direct download so half the time i just downloaded it and made my player play it in tcpmp player

i had this phone first ill go over what i didnt like about it then ill talk more about it in depth
i didnt like the fact that my memory card slot was on the side facing outwords it wasnt very easy to pop out but that was a good thing i alwasy felt like someone would easily take my memory card out and keep it for themselves givin the chance not that i know alot of bad people its just like that or how people get curious and wanna see what the latch is may pop ur card out and lose it i was always checking to make sure it was still in there
2nd if u go to download a file on wifi u are stuck waiting for that file to download not too bad but sometimes i wanted to read somthing online while it downloaded and it just wasnt happening
i also took a stabb at getting a nes emulator running on the phone ive used a few diff ones that were org for the sda from tmobile and the mda and for the wing
sadly i had soo much trouble getting it to run and to make it work was trickier then it should have been for such a simple application it wouldnt map the buttons correctly half the time
the spinny scroll wheel thing was a kool idea but it just didnt work well half the time my finger tips were half sweaty that helped me grab the wheel better to spin it half the time it either didnt work right or was more trouble to try to incorperate then it needed to be u find urself not even using it half the time
the thickness its not it isnt but i think if it would have been slightly slimmer alot more people would have bought one
the absense of a ear hole plug for headphones was annoying at the least i mean i had my htc wing headset mini usb ofcourse and i had the shadows headset but still didnt care for the bulky usb plug and why do they give u a Y adapter for charging the phone at the same time to plug ur headset in thats just seems like wow they put alot of thought into that for a select few people who may do that ...NOTT HAHA would have rather had a usb to headset peice anyways that aside

ps they could have made them in white and black or red or blue i thounk would have worked out pretty good - keep in mind this phone launched when the sidekick lx did
the goods
its a power packed slider like no other
the speaker is up to par with all the other htc phones ive used nice and loud and good for auditable music
the phone has more ram and rom memory then i thought it would and it really helps make the phone more effeciant and stable
not to mention the built in memory was more then any other pda phone tmobile offered at the time and still may match the new vario lineup i think not sure havnt checked
the cpu is still the same ole retarded 200mhz cpu but for a non touch screen thats fine really to me
i did how ever find the menus helpfull but at the same time it was like i got this lil screen and 100 things and setting and email and stuff at time i felt cramped with it
the video i would say would be my fav about it this phone seems to take video that ant that bad for a cell infact i liked it more then the tmobile wing witch idk why but u can only rec 4min of straight video b4 u have to save and take another video on the tmobile wing as opposed to this phone i recorded video for over 30 mins straight and then u can copy it to ur mem card witch i didnt like that fact of not being able to specify my mem card as a save destination as i recall i had to save the video to the phone mem then save it over to the card either way it was ok
i give this phone a worthy score
major downfalls for this phone was plainly the black berry type qwerty keyboard as many of my friends just couldnt get it or didnt care to take the time to even use it because of this i myself was fine with it
