TCL NxtPaper 14 is now official, Tab 11 Gen 2 goes on sale

TCL launched a couple of new smartphones with NxtPaper displays at IFA, but the company also expanded its tablet lineup with the innovative display tech. It introduced the NxtPaper 14 tablet with a 14.3" display and a massive battery.

The brand also announced the start of the sales of the Tab 11 Gen 2 - a regular LCD tablet that was first introduced at MWC.

TCL NxtPaper 14

The NxtPaper 14 packs a 14.3" NxtPaper 3.0 screen, which is the latest version of the e-ink-mimicing of display. It filters harmful blue light by up to 61% while retaining sharp images and full colors.

The panel has 2,400 x 1,600 px resolution and up to 400 nits brightness. The refresh rate is capped at 60 Hz, while the touch panel supports up to 10 points and works with the TCL stylus T-Pen. The slate has a physical toggle that allows for quick change between Regular, Color Paper, and Ink Paper modes.

The tablet has a 10,000 mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging. The hardware is nothing exceptional, with a Helio G99 chipset, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. It is a Wi-Fi-only device that doesn't take cards – neither SIM nor microSD.

There is a circular camera island on the back for the 8 MP camera with AF, while the front has two cameras with 13 MP and 5 MP sensors. They also work for Face Unlock, which is the only biometric unlocking option, as the NxtPaper 14 lacks a fingerprint scanner.

The TCL NxtPaper 14 comes with Android 14 and is priced at €399. It will be available in Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.

TCL Tab 11 Gen 2

The Tab series of TCL consists on no-nonsense slates with affordable price tag. Here, the Tab 11 comes with an 11" NxtVision screen, which is what TCL calls its LCD panels. The resolution is 1920 x 1200, and the panel supports up to 60 Hz refresh rate.

TCL equipped the Tab 11 with a Helio G80 and 6 GB RAM, which is a major update, compared with the Tab 10 from last year that ran on the dated Helio P22 platform and had no more than 4 GB RAM. Also, the Tab 11 now has micro SD slot that can expand the 256 GB storage by up to 1 TB.

This device has one 8 MP camera at the back and a 5 MP selfie shooter. The battery capacity is 8,000 mAh and it supports 18W charging (adapter included in the retail package), and the Tab 11 Gen 2 runs Android 14.

TCL offers the Tab 11 Gen 2 in Gray for €199. The tablet will be available for sale in Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific markets.
