Tecno Camon 30 series will get Android 16 and three years of security patches

Today Tecno has finally shed some light on its software update plans for the recently launched Camon 30 series of smartphones, of which there are four so far: the Camon 30, Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Pro, and Camon 30 Premier.

The devices will get two major Android updates - to Android 15 and Android 16. The latter one is likely to come out around three years from their launch, which just happened this month, given the "3-year" wording you can see below.

Tecno is also promising it will issue three years of security patches for the Camon 30 handsets, although it doesn't tell us how often it plans on sending them out - hopefully monthly, but we wouldn't bet on that.

If you're interested in learning more about Tecno's latest devices, don't miss our in-depth review of the Camon 30 Premier, which is, as the name implies, the highest-end of the bunch.

I agree partially with you but bear in mind that over the years you won't be able to run applications which will require for example Android 10/11 (minimum) or above. Banking applications also may stop working if your Playstore is no longer up...
