Tecno Phantom V Fold manufacturing in India starts, launch date and price revealed
Chinese phone maker Tecno today announced it has begun the production of the Phantom V Fold in India as a part of its commitment to the "Make in India" program. It will be manufactured at Tecno's facility in Noida, which is currently capable of producing 24 million phones a year.
The brand also announced that the Phantom V Fold will be launched in India on April 11, with early access sale on Amazon starting from April 12. The foldable smartphone will be sold for INR77,777 ($945/€870) in India, but this price is applicable only for limited stock, and the brand hasn't revealed how much the Phantom V Fold will cost in India later.
The Phantom V Fold is Tecno's first foldable smartphone, and it has the Dimensity 9000+ SoC at the helm with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of storage (we don't know which configuration is coming to India). Its FullHD+ cover display measures 6.42" diagonally, while the foldable screen has a 7.85" diagonal with a 2,296x2,000-pixel resolution. Both are LTPO-type panels with a 120Hz screen refresh rate and 1,100 nits peak brightness.
The Tecno Phantom V Fold packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W charging support and comes with five cameras - three on the back (50MP primary + 50MP telephoto + 13MP ultrawide), one on the inside (16MP selfie), and one on the cover display (32MP selfie). However, unlike the vivo X Fold/Fold+, the Phantom V Fold doesn't feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. It opts for a side-mounted solution instead.

Actually various components of phones from screens, to SoCs, to Imaging Sensors, to camera lenses etc are sourced from different suppliers. It's the same for almost all manufacturers.

Most of the hardware are still sourced from China. Claimed to be 'Made in India' but more accurately they are 'Assembled in India', including Indian OEMs like Lava.

At this price, it is better to buy a pre-owned Samsung Z Fold 3..easily available in India in the range of 60-70K INR.. if budget allows Fold 4 can be found for 80-85K in the used market..
