Tecno Spark 30C is official with Helio G81 chipset, 120 Hz screen

Tecno has unveiled the Spark 30C today. This phone seems to be tailor-made to compete with the Redmi 14C that launched last month, as the specs are quite similar.

The Spark 30C comes with a 6.67-inch 720x1600 LCD screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, a 50 MP rear camera, an 8 MP selfie camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W wired charging.

The phone is powered by MediaTek's Helio G81 SoC, and it's going to be offered in four RAM/storage combos: 4/128GB, 6/128GB, 4/256GB, and 8/256GB. The Spark 30C has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual symmetrical speakers, and an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.

It will be available in Orbit Black, Orbit White, and Magic Skin 3.0. Tecno promises "4 years plus lasting fluency", due to the battery deteriorating to 80% or more of its original capacity after more than 1,000 charging cycles. Pricing hasn't been announced yet.

Tecno lost the opportunity to make a phone that beats Redmi 14C instead rivalling with Xiaomi for the worst e-waste announced by in 2024.

The Samsung flagships became less fluid over time because of Samsung's poor optimization and planned obsolescence, not the use of outdated UFS storage that isn't far off from later UFS storage versions.
