The Meizu 17 and 17 Pro will get a 120Hz refresh rate mode with an upcoming update
The Meizu 17 and 17 Pro were finally unveiled last week after a long teaser campaign. But fans raised an eyebrow – “only 90Hz?”. Today, yes, but Meizu is already working on an update that will enable 120Hz refresh rate.
In fact, the update is currently being tested by early adopters who can try it out and, if there are no show-stopping issues, the update will be rolled out over the air to everyone.
By the way, the 90Hz screen refresh mode is accompanied with 180Hz touch sampling, it’s not clear if that will go up to 240Hz once the update is delivered.

Sales of Meizu’s two new flagships are starting today in China, there’s still no word on a global release. For now, you can find the phones on the company’s official store, here are the links: Meizu 17 (CNY 3,700 for 8/128GB) and Meizu 17 Pro (CNY 4,300 for 8/128GB). Anyway, if the update comes out soon, many buyers will have 120Hz practically from day one.
