Three days from now OnePlus will launch its second generation smart TVs in India, a followup to the OnePlus Q1 models. There will be three versions: 32”, 43” and 55”. The top model will have a 4K panel while the middle one is expected to have 1080p resolution. That’s still better than the smallest offering, which is rumored to have a 720p panel.

The goal here is to offer competitive pricing. The current Q1 starts at INR 70,000, the Q1 Pro goes up to INR 100,000. The new TVs will be much more affordable with the 55” model starting at under INR 50,000, the entry level 32” TV will be under INR 20,000.

They will still be an audio-visual treat with Dolby Vision support (a kind of HDR), 93% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and Dolby Atmos (multi-channel audio). OnePlus promises a premium, slender design.

You can already pre-book the TVs on Amazon India, if you do you will receive 2 years of extended warranty support for free. The way it works is that you pay INR 1,000 for the warranty now, which will be returned to your Amazon Pay account after you purchase the TV.

Will they refund the pre-order amount, if we do not purchase the TV?

Being a tech company, research is poor on the Dolby Atmos part. It is NOT multichannel. Dokby Atmos is object-based tech, making the speakers the 3D space, NOT channels that have its own duties per speaker in relation to sound mixing of the content.
