The Nothing Ear (3) case will have a Super Mic on it - yet more evidence of a walkie-talkie feature?
Hold on, is Nothing building a walkie-talkie? Last week, the company posted an image of the Nothing Ear (3), which prominently featured a Talk button. However, the company didn’t provide an explanation of what that button does.
A new image was posted on Nothing’s Instagram account saying “Ear (3) with Super Mic. Now they can hear you.”. Here’s the image:
Ear (3) with Super Mic. Now they can hear you.
Notice that her thumb is right over the Talk button. The Super Mic itself isn’t seen in this image (it’s on the right side of the case), so we have to turn to a previous post to see it.
The button should work in a push-to-talk fashion, just like a walkie-talkie. But what apps will be supported by this? We may have to wait for the full reveal, which is scheduled for this Thursday. Anyway, Nothing sure likes adding interesting features to its TWS bud cases – like the Smart Dial.
PS. How many of you remember those old Nokia phones with a push-to-talk feature?

I like how you say that as if our phones don't actively listen for explicit commands
